I use my cigarette as a sort of "timer" for my initial stretching and even for my first few light hits on the ball. After the 5 to 7 minutes it takes to finish my cigarette I'm sufficiently warmed up so that I can now get serious and start hitting some real shots, so the cigarette definitely plays a key role in my pre-round preparations.

Good idea, I think ill take up smoking again. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...ies/act-up.png
I smoke cigars at the course now so I always light them up after I warm up but cigs were always a great way to tell time.

I wonder how the foursome behind you feels about you taking all those practice shots on the first tee instead of the range.
Practice shots? round has started. That's 7 shots before I even get to fairway.Typical opening hole at least a snowman but a +5 to start the round isn't unheard of.The foursome behind me hates me even when I practice before a round.I'll break 130 this summer I hope.

A cart heater?

Why not just hire someone to play the round for you? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/laughing.gif

Seriously though, why not walk in the colder weather? It keeps the blood flowing, the body warm and the muscles loose. I can't imagine riding in a cart when it's cold; to me that would be like driving down the highway in January with the windows wide open.

I wish we had the carts you guys have in New York! Ours don't go fast at all!

it all depends on the conditions... when its path only ill walk it... but i walked the last time it was cold out and i literally had to run to my next shot to get blood flowing... but its actually warmer taking a powercart cuz they have the covers on it here

Fast?

Nothing is fast anymore since governors on the motors became the rule of the day.

I miss the old days when speed ruled the day... donuts, 360's on a wet fairway... speeding down hills headed for a sharp turn with your partner on the brink of a coronary...

good times, man...good times!

I can still do the one-foot-in, one-foot-out brake/arrival/step out though, so that's something (and it's real noisy too, if it's on asphalt) http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png

But overall, today's carts are boring as hell.

Speaking of carts, one time we had a flat tire haa haa and then just yesterday, our golf cart went into limp mode and I could walk faster than the cart moved haa haa http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/banghead.gif

Back when I could still smoke, I used to have a cigarette while riding the cart to the first tee, then swing away between hacking coughs.

Now that I have quit smoking, I just swing away with no warm up at all.http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png
