Beta Blockers

Do you know or have you heard of anyone using a beta blocker to help calm their nerves while golfing? I suppose this would be deemed as an illegal enhancement agent? I know a few at my course that use them, however they use Millerlight or Budlight as their preferred beta blocker :o) Too many of those puppies however can defeat the purpose.

Not sure whether or not it would work. I know some in Holywood have been known to take them before auditions or so the story goes. But keep in mind one of the side effects of beta blockers is that it could lead to ED.

I would deal with the nerves before I would risk that.

I remember a decade or so ago there was a lot of discussion about guys on the Senior Tour using them in the "Grille" at the Country Club I worked at. Which lead me to believe that it likely was being used on the regular Tour as well. They are now a part of the banned substance list, and Doug Baron was suspended for failing a drug test that contained Beta Blockers and anabolic steroids.

You might get extra distance but your round will be shorter http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png

I know some people take pills like Concerta or Strattera because it might help you concentrate.

GG and I have both been taking these since her review. We both think they work. Placebo effect? Maybe, but they seem to be working for us right now.

A few years back, someone on tour was taking Beta Blockers for a heart condition and there was some talk that it might be considered a performance enhancing drug, but I don't remember the outcome. The player was taking them under a doctor's supervision and it was truly for a medical condition, not for performance enhancement.

I found the article, so I added the link:

The review was in June, so you have been taking these about 6 months now... do you both really feel they are the reason your game is better?

For golf? I could see Strattera because it's an SNRI, but Concerta is a stimulant.

No, I do not think they are the reason my game is better. But overall, I feel better when I am out on the course.

When compared to MGD, Miller Light, and Bud Light just can't stay the course. However, if MGD is not available, or the cart girl is no so good looking, then the "lights" will just have to do. Probably won't help your game, but they can improve your view of the cart girl. Those, or that "Coors" stuff. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png
