Default Golf Course Eateries :)
Do all golf courses have restaurants? The ones we've played at so far, they seem to have restaurants on the course. How's the food there?

There's one place where we played and ate that I got sick and they use fake eggs, ewwwie!! I had ordered a breakfast burrito, and you'd think it would come with more than just eggs and flour tortilla? haa haa, nope, just eggs and flour tortilla in mine. I had to ask for bacon separately and they were in hole pieces so I just didn't bother putting the bacon into my so-called breakfast burrito. But fake eggs, my stomach does not like

But at the course by where we live, awesome place to eat!!

And do these restaurants normally have a bar as well?

Our club has a dining room and a "grill room". Both have quite good food.

Our grill room has a bar in it. Most courses that I have been a member at have a full restaurant. However a few public courses have a snack bar instead.

I can already see this turning into another bacon thread.

Not that I have any objections!

At the course that is near my work, they have a sandwich shop. When the weather was good, we would go there for lunch after eating we would go out to the practice greens and putt for the remainder of our break. It was a sweet setup.

I agree, how can they not put bacon in the burrito? Funny im not a big breakfast burrito guy but I find golf courses to usually have the best.

When I was a kid, the highlight of the round was getting a hotdog at the turn. They grilled them and put them on buttered grilled rolls. They were yummy.

The course I play has a restaurant and bar, and the best deal in MA: $38 for a round, with cart and a free-lunch, for the weekday AM rounds (i.e. started before noon). The lunch menu has plenty of choices, offering a decent choice of sandwiches, hot meals, and the lunches are actually quite good!

Perhaps there is such a thing as a free-lunch, because I would certainly fork over the $38 for just the round.

I guess it really depends on the course, some I have played have a restaurant, some have just a shack with a grill.

Golf_Gal.. where is that course with the awesome food?

All of the courses I play here have some sort of restaurant with them, some better than others. My home course (public, technically a muni) serves pretty food, but just a few breakfast items and typical pub fare (burgers, dogs, sandwiches, burritos, etc.).

Don't go to Altadena, they use fake eggs and my stomach wasn't too happy. But Rancho Duarte in Duarte (duh hee hee) has really good food. The chef is Greek, so they have a lot of Greek food. Its really cool there for Monday night football!! Quite busy, but the place is jammed pack with people watching football games!!

Every golf course Ive ever been to had a restaurant and bar in the clubhouse. Ive never had any bad food at a golf course, although it could be described as, "bar food". Not that there is nothing wrong with a greasy bar burger and fries.
