Kudos Gen. Lessons are a great idea, but make sure you find a good instructor.

Congrats! Breaking 100 will be in my top 3 achievements of golf(Breaking 100, Breaking Par~has not happened yet, Hole in one~not happened yet).

Hope you get the other 2 of the three I've listed above!

Thank you so much for the kinid words everyone. I am so glad I found this forum if only for the fact that I have people that care as much about the game as I do and I don't have to bore my girlfriend with golf talk as much :P

Very nice!

I have yet to officially break 100 but have gotten close!

(2 different rounds had a score of 89 through 17 holes... then it just got too dark with par 5 left... guess 12 would've been possible)

Also thinking about getting lessons soon... Correcting my own mistakes can only take me so far right?

I 2nd the lessons. I just started this year. I played a few rounds, hit a few balls on the range here and there then got a swing analysis. Pretty much turned my swing around in 60 minutes and got me pointed in the right direction. I took another short game lesson and I'm looking to have an on-course lesson to learn more course strategy. My only tip would be to work the drills from each lesson to death. It took me a few weeks after each lesson to get the drills down to where they were helping my game.

Congrats on breaking 100. I've done it a few times and it is nice to feel progress. I read that if you can think of each hole as a par-5 then you will keep things in perspective. Playing 18 and hitting par-5 on each hole would mean a 90. I think it is attainable if we keep trying! Good luck on the course and keep us updated.
