Default distance for each club
<I did a quick search, and didnt see a topic like this, but feel free to merge if there is one..>

I am trying to regain my game after a lengthy break, so after getting my swing back to an acceptable level, im trying to guage how far i hit each club in my bag. thus far i havent had the chance to hit each club, only got to play 2 x 9 holes these past 2 days. one day the fairways were damp, the next they were relatively dry.

I've a lot more calculating to do, and a lot more practice too.
I hope to have this all completed within a week or 2.
so, at the moment, i have the following club distances measured (and might yet be ammended).

Driver: 265 yards / 242 meters

3W (tee): 250 yards / 229 meters
3W (fw):
5W (tee):
5W (fw):

3i:
4i (tee): 187 yards / 171 meters
4i (fw): 164 yards / 148 meters
5i:
6i (tee): 151 / 138 meters
7i:
8i: 147 yards / 135 meters
9i:

PW:
GW: 115 yards / 105 meters
LW: 100 yards / 91 meters

BTW, the way i have been measuring is.. ive been dropping balls down at iconic markers on the course, then coming home and using Google maps ruler to calculate how far each shot went. I (like A. Kim) dont really know my distances, and have a great feel for each shot, i know instinctively which club to play most of the time, the problem with this is, that i dont always get it right, and i often have to guesstimate.

how about you, what are your club lengths. and how do you calculate them...

(fw) = from the fairway
(tee) = from the tee box

Are your distances with a full out swing or is it 80% your full out swing?

Also is that the max distance or avg distance or just a distance you like to hit it?

I'll, just say my distances are not as long as yours, by about two clubs, and leave it at that. I just care about my full swing carry distances with each club. As a matter of fact I will going out to dry lake bed tomorrow evening with my laser to recheck those carry distances.
