How often do you replace your golf shoes. Due to technological advancement shoes have become (or at least marketed more) as pieces of equipment. I believe they are equipment and a very important part of our golf arsenal. With this in mind I was wondering how often THP'ers replace the show becaue the inner workings and support does diminsh over time due to the repetitive use associated witht the twisting and turning of our powerful swings (had to throw that in) I am not talking about replacing spikes; I think most of us replace them at least annually depending on amount of use. I was just curious.

Keith,
I still have shoes that are 8 years old, and just had new inserts put in. I do play with a few guys that use Green Joys and a few of the other cheaper shoes. Nothing wrong with them and they seem to work for them. However I consider them more of a disposable shoe. Something that you will replace after a season or two at the most. I try and take care of my shoes the best I can. Shoes can get pretty costly with all the tech in them now (whether you believe they help or not) and I want them to last. I clean them after most rounds. Polish them (keeps scratches and scuffs away) to keep from cracking and want them to last for years. No different than my apparel or my clubs. To answer the original question, I still have a great pair of shoes that are 7 years old. New insoles put in and had some work on the soles. They were quite pricey when I bought them and think they will last for years. |

Just a follow up. Many of us have multiple pairs but do you get a new pair each year to replace an older set or do like I am doing and accumulating more golf shoes than any other type. |

I do the same thin and clean my shoes after just about every round with warm water and polish them. I use shoe trees as well the keep them looking as fresh as possible. I picked up a couple of pair of the Addidas tennis shoe-looking types which are great for walking the course and are quite comfortabe. I think that now brings my total to 10 pair. There two or three that are still in the box and have not been worn yet. Guess I am waiting on the right Sligo outfit to match them. If I cant play golf I can at least look like I can play golf. ![]() |

Yeah for me, I like shoes. Golf shoes and regular shoes. But I am not the best example, because I love clothes too. Regular and golf. However most of my golf clothes I wear outside of playing golf also.
I am not sure how many pairs of golf shoes I have. Its a bunch. As for regular shoes, there are a WHOLE lot. But that is for a different discussion. |

For me it is just when they are wore out or become uncomfortable. I try and keep 3-4 pairs in the rotation that are different colors so I can match anything. If it gets to the point where I don't want to wear them anymore I will replace them. I don't play that ofter anymore so a good pair of shoes will last me several years. Because of this, I tend to get the 'good' shoes so I know they will last. Some of the cheaper shoes just don't last very long and can get really uncomfortable.

I keep anywhere from 4-6 pairs at any given time. I think it is 6 now. There are 3 pairs in the current rotation, two pairs of Callaways and one pair of Nike. The Nikes are Zoom Vapor Lites. First microfiber shoe I have owned and I really like them. Very lightweight and comfortable right out of the box. I try to rotate them regularly to even the wear between pairs and also to match whatever clothes I am wearing. A couple of the reserve pairs will come into play this winter.

I replace then when they are worn out. Buying the latest and greatest just because it's there is just a waste of good money, in my most humble opinion.
I have 2 pairs of golf shoes... one pair of Footjoy Contours, and one pair of Footjoy golf sandals. The Contours are 3 years old, the sandals were new this spring. Both are still in great condition. I just put in new spikes when needed. ![]() |

I like picking up last years models on closeout to keep price affordable. Right now I have two pairs that I rotate, but I will probably buy a third pair soon. One pair I got last year and they are still pretty new, one pair is in its third season and they still have at least 1-2 more left. I would like to have 3-4 at all times... so I think that's where I am headed.
oh, and there is only one brand of shoes for me... ![]() |

I must be the only one on THP with just one pair of golf shoes. I've owned 4 pair of golf shoes in the 15 or so years I've been playing, and only buy new shoes when the old ones start to let water in or wear out or crack. I've had my current pair of Nike SP3's for three years and they're wearing really well. Being a white and black saddle, they match most anything too.
