How often?
 

Gummi Bear's post about not playing since July made me wonder, how often does everyone play?

I play both days on most weekends and I try to play at least one evening a week. I practice a couple of times a week during the lunch hour if I can manage it. (You'd think I would be better with all this effort)

How about everyone else?

C-Tech - I expected your thread to ask how often you whine about your game and the correct response is in every post you make.

Most of the summer - I played 2-3 times a week, but I've only played twice since the end of August. I do have plans to play the next three weekends though.

I haven't played a round of golf since last October (recessions and lack of business will do that).

But under normal circumstances, I play about 2 times per week and hit the driving range at least as much.

I play twice a week. Usually Mondays and Thursdays, however recently with magazine launch and moving to a new house in 30 days has shrunken that down to once a week. When people visit THP land, I will play everyday.

I usually do not play on weekends. Play is too slow and it is family time with the wife.

At least on the average of 2+ times a week, in addition to 4-6 hours of practice most weeks. There are also stretches where I don't play due to other priorities, and hobbies. I have a road trip coming up where I will golf 5 different courses in 5 days with some friends. I play around 13.5 holes a week. 13.5 holes you ask? Well one Saturday I usually play 9 holes and the next Saturday I will play 18. I do get in the occasional round during the week but it is relatively rare. I try to make it to the range at least once a week but that doesn’t always happen.

My October however is shaping up to be sweet…

I usually play 2 or 3 times during the week after work when it stays daylight long enough and usually play on Sunday afternoons.

This will be the least amount I've played since 2005. I've played 17 rounds and I too haven't played since the end of July. The previous yrs. I played 30-40 rounds in those. No membership or job at a course anymore hurts BIG TIME!

Ive been kind of busy these last few weeks so my golf schedule is off, but I play one day during the weekend for sure and usually one day during the week.

Most every Saturday and Sunday. Hit the range a couple times a week with the Wife and Daughter. They usually hit balls while I give them pointers and screw up their swings. I hit quite a few balls before we play on the weekends, but not usually during the week.

This spring and summer have been really busy both on a personal level and business/work so I have not played as much this year only about 12 -15 rounds normally by this time I would have 40 to 50 in. Good thing is that I can play year round so I'm looking forward to getting back out this fall and winter for more golf.

18 holes on Saturday Morning from mid April thru Sept. I joined a thursday night league but only made it out 10 times (9 holes). too busy......

Not as much as I would like. Since the last Sunday in June I have touched the clubs once to play one 18 hole round. It really sucks. Usually, I have a couple of work events that get me out during the week every month or so, but we haven't had any this year. Then the weekends when I have the possibility of playing the weather has been bad.

I have played 55 rounds in the past 12 months.

I typically play 1-2 times per week but have been known to go to the extreme on both ends of the scale. There are times when my schedule allows that I might play 5 days in a row and then there are times when I just don't want to play and that may last 3 months or so. I do typically manage to play about 1 a week during the winter here in the PNW depending on the weather, just plan on getting wet and being cold...

JP, sorry to hear it. I couldn't imagine not being able to play for that long. Hopefully things will get better soon.

Other than an annual weeklong golf trip, I don't have opportunities to play during the week. During the spring through fall period, I typically play 3-4 times per month. I try to get out there once a weekend, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. During the winter, depends on weather (I'm a fair weather weenie). This usually means 30-40 rounds per year for me.

This year will be a big year for me. Things worked out where I played 8 rounds in July (basically every weekend day). I expect to get in around 50. I usually start off the spring anxious to hit the range and practice green (a couple times per week), but by the time summer comes around, I stop going to the range.

Last year I played over 100 rds, the most days in a row I have ever played was 8.

This year I don't even know how many rds, haven't added up the score cards yet. I would say it's down since I am only playing once, maybe twice a week right now.

I play 4 to 5 day's a week for a while, then work will shut me down to twice a week every so often. Right now I'm in the twice a week, but after next weeks trip to Vegas I'll be back at it.
