So, this blurb was more about Haney dislocating his shoulder while surfing, but it did mention that Haney would be shooting season 2 of The Haney Project starting in November.
Wonder if they will have a new victim, or keep working with Barkley? Hank Haney is nursing a sore left shoulder he dislocated while surfing. - Shag Bag Golf Blog | Golf Channel Surfs up, er, down REX HOGGARD, Senior Writer, GolfChannel.com Posted 09/10/2009, 2:22 PM EST LEMONT, Ill. – Hank Haney is at home in Dallas nursing a sore left shoulder he dislocated Sept. 2 while surfing in Hawaii. According to Haney’s spokesman, he was on vacation in Kukio, Hawaii with friends and his fiancée when he tried to brace himself while surfing. No surgery was needed, but Haney had to walk 1 ½ miles down the beach to reach an ambulance. Haney – whose star pupil, Tiger Woods, was 1 under at the turn at the BMW Championship – was expecting a quick recovery and plans to begin filming for the second season of Golf Channel’s “The Haney Project” and also for his wedding in November. EDIT: Well, after a little Googling, I guess this is old news . . . Golf Channel swings for 'Haney' Celebrity series renewed by network By JON WEISMAN Golf Channel is renewing celebrity swing-coaching skein "The Haney Project" for a second season of eight episodes beginning in March. Series' initial season, completed Monday, represented the top-rated launch of an original series in the cabler's history, drawing buzz for popular NBA Hall of Famer and TNT commentator Charles Barkley's humorous but sincere efforts to improve his infamously ugly golf game under the tutelage of Tiger Woods' swing coach, Hank Haney. Golf Channel plans to tie the announcement of its second-season celebrity student to its preview coverage of the U.S. Open, running June 18-21. Selection is still in progress. "We're trying to go entertainer," Golf Channel senior veep of programming, production and operations Tom Stathakes told Daily Variety. "People like Larry David, Ray Romano. ... We've had a lot of athletes that have asked to do it. Barkley was tremendous -- lightning in a bottle -- but I think we're going to try to delve into a different area." More than one option Combined with "The Golf Fix" and "Big Break," "Haney" has helped Golf Channel double its Monday-night primetime ratings since the end of February. "Haney" also accounts for 75% of all entertainment video views at GolfChannel.com. |

oh gawd, that was a horrible show and Barkley never improved. Just get rid of that show and that Micheal Breed show to bring back the golf academy I like Playing Lessons and even the Champion's Tour Learning Center. I would like to see them expand either or both of those. |

The Barkley/Haney thing might have been worthwhile if they hadn't drug it out for so long, but I really don't enjoy Michael Breed screaming at me for 30 minutes. I turn it off immediately. |
