I started playing because of a vacation to Maui with friends. They all golfed and I didn't want to sit around and watch while they played. So a few months before our vacation I started taking lessons. Kapalua was one of the first 18 hole courses I played.

I think i was 12 the first time i picked up a club,but in my twenties before taking it more seriously and playing more often.

I started playing golf when I was 18. Basically, I watched it on TV a couple times, thought it looked like fun and the rest, as they say, is history...

Picked it up when I was 24, started playing seriously last year and my life has been irrevocably altered.. My wife hates my new mistress, but eh, what can you do???

I was 22. I had graduated college and taken a job as a stockbroker. It became clear I needed to learn to play for business reasons. So I went to the range several times a week in the late afternoons before going back to the office to make cold calls (ugh).

I hated the job; didn't last more than a year. But I fell in love with the game. I wish I picked up the game as a child....

My dad took me when i was 3 or 4 and really started when i was 11 and was a 36 and now am a 10 at 15.

played about 10 rounds when I was 27-28 then didn't pick up a club again till I was 50.Been at it for about 3 years now.

Age 47 and this is my third year playing.

I caddied at a local private country club when I was a kid but never took it beyond that till recently. Wish I had picked it up 30 years ago but school, family, business, water & snow skiing, snowmobiling, etc. got in the way.

Played on my high school team all 4 years 78 through 82 then gave it up from 82 to 2005 for 23 years, wish I would have stuck with it then but I'm getting better, my fiancee rues the day she got me back in to the game 4 years ago she likes the sport, and is a great golfer, but I'm the one who Is a Zealot about it.
