We have a place up here called Golftown.

Typical mega golf store. 1 million sq-feet of pure joy.

Around here, it's pretty much a choice between Dick's, Sports Authority, one of the local pro shops/ranges, or a trip to Orlando.

I have a feeling I'll like the big Edwin Watts in Orlando once I finally get a chance to visit.

PGA Tour Superstore is the best golf store I've ever been in (in terms of selection).

TGW.com is great for finding deals on clothing and accessories.

We have a couple of ProGolf Discount stores that are pretty nice. There is another called Puetz that is nice. I usually buy online and when I do it's from Golfsmith or TGW.

BBBD-

I know it's not in your area, but the Puetz on Aurora in Seattle is nice because they have an outdoor range and they will let you tape up just about any club and hit it. Also, their staff seems more knowledgeable than most.

And Golf Galaxy opened a store in Renton back in January. It's nothing special (kinda small), but they have a decent selection of clubs, balls, and accessories. They also have two indoor bays with launch monitors. But their apparel selection is kinda mediocre.

I've been to the one up in Aurora, it is pretty nice. I don't really care for the Puetz at South Center. The Puetz and PGD in Tacoma are pretty similar. Didn't realize there was a GG in Renton. Might have to look it up.

I have a Golfsmith, GGalaxy, and a PGA Super store all within 5 minutes of work. But, I have never been to PGA Store.....partially because thier web site has no online shopping/pricing to give me a clue about prices.

Are PGA Superstore prices better?

the Employess at the local GSmith are quite freindly and helpful.

oh and a local Clubmaker shop a few minutes away too.

We have Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy, Dick's, Sports Authority, and a few small retailers. I do a lot of "window shopping," and uaually end up at Golfsmith. I've gotten to know the club repairman, who fit me for my current set. He's a great guy and knows a lot about the game of golf as well as club repair and club fitting.

As far as "Brick and Mortar" stores go, Golfsmith is about it around here.

For online purchases, I like Global Golf.

I have three stores I use for big golf purchases. Those being Golf USA in Manhattan KS, Fiddler's Green in Eugene OR, and Golf Smith...in that order. Small stuff like tees, and such are locally purchased at WalMart, KMart. and Target's yearly clearance sale. We have a Dicks SGs, Sports Authority and a Golf Galaxy, here but they are way over priced on a lot of stuff. Plus their sales staff are not quite up to par. The smaller golf retailers you can't depend on them staying in business more than a year or so. We have a store called Las Vegas Golf & Tennis which has survived over the years, but they cater more to the tourist trade, and sell only the larger OEM brands. There is a Callaways outlet, complete with a 9 hole course, but I don't use that brand. I save about 15%-20% purchasing purchasing stuff out of state.

Whenever possible, I like to support local businesses. We have a couple of locally owned smaller golf stores that often have a nice selection of clothes and shoes.

Fiddler's, I forgot about that one. That's another great store!
