Here's the story. Last January I bought a new set of Titleist AP-2 irons. I'd been using my King Cobras for more than 6 years and they were getting tired and I was tired of them. As it turned out, my swing wasn't up to the new sticks, so I had to return to the old Cobras. I was still using them about 3 weeks ago, when I decided to go and try some of the current models. I really liked the Callaway X22's so I ordered a set through the pro shop at the course where I work. Then for some reason, I put the Titleist irons back in the bag. Some swing changes I made during the season seem to have made a difference. Now out of nowhere I'm hitting the AP-2's well, better than I ever hit the Cobras even when they were new.
My problem is that now the new Callaways are in the pro shop waiting for Callaway to send the invoice, and then I'll have to take receipt of them. As things now stand, they will just go into the garage and sit until the AP-2's wear out or fail me. I'm just feeling kind of stupid for jumping the gun on the new irons without trying the ones I already had first. ![]() Anybody ever had this problem before? ![]() |
