They are having one of the David Pelz short game clinics by my house. I know he is not going to be there, nor would I care, but do you guys think these things are worth it? I took a ESPN one a few years back and it helped me a lot.

I have had short game instruction at Harmon's school of golf at Rio Secco, and it did help....a lot. The only important thing I see missing from your Pelz school is their people checking your equipment for proper fit to your swing. Other than that, I would guess if you have an extra $425 to spend, that you would not miss, then you should give it a try. It couldn't hurt. I would bring along some sort of video, or audio recording tool (if allowed) so that you can refresh your memory long after those instruction folks have moved on. Hopefully, for that price you would think they would provide you with a CD/DVD of their instruction program.
Now a different point of view might be to look in your area for another quality short game instructor, which for $425 you could could get multiple lesson over a period of time, which would mean you you would not have to cram all of Pelz's info into just 7 hours of instruction. |

Pelz is a very smart man and his books are loaded with info. That being said I would take the 425.00 and get private lessons. Pelz claim to fame is his scientific approach and while nice to know its not necessarily required info imo. The beauty of private lessons is you have a trained eye watching you and only you. The short game unlike the long game is full of truths, there is really only one way to do it, everyone teaches the same thing just in different ways.
