Default Golf Course Crime Wave
I didn't know the Salt Lake City area was such a dangerous place for golf courses.

What's interesting is that all these courses are part of the Salt Lake County municipal golf course system. There are plenty of other golf courses in the area. Hmmm...

Have golf courses in your area been targeted like that? I'd never heard that before.

An arson (they say) allegedly burn up our club house several years ago, but we got a new, improved club house after that. About the only things that happens+ now are stolen golf bags, and others taking carts for a joy ride while the golfer(s) are on the green. Some kids took a cart I was sharing with guy, and drove it a few holes down the way. He had his cell phone, called the police, and as the kids jumped the fence into strip mall parking lot the cops were waiting for them. They were 9, and 10 years old. We let their parents deal with them. The people that get their bags stolen are not very bright in the first place. They leave them in a breeze way that leads directly to the parking lot, while they go into the bar/grill where they can't see their bags.

Other than some vandalism to several greens, I have never seen a golf course targeted by criminals. There were 3 holes that ran along an apartment complex at my old home course and vandals (probably kids from the complex) dug holes in the greens with the flagstick. Several of us volunteered to stand guard at night with rock salt loaded shotguns, but the course declined.

a few or more years back, Golfers were being robbed on the course, at a Dallas area course.
