Default Golf Fundraiser
A good friend at one of our favorite companies sent this over to us today and THP always believes in a good cause. Here is the email that they forwarded to us.

Once again, a TREMENDOUS thank you for your support of our trip to Zambia last month. It was absolutely life-changing and we left there with a special place in our hearts for the Zambian children we were privileged to meet and spend a week of our lives with.

Zambia, Africa painted a very real picture of darkness, poverty, starvation, abuse, and sadness that will forever be engrained in my memory. The children over there are forgotten, unloved, and often completely neglected. It’s not uncommon to see a 10-year old child with little to eat, struggling to make it in this life because both of his parents have died and he is being raised (and often physically and sexually abused) by a step-parent, uncle, or grandparent who treats him more as a burden than a child who deserves to be loved. Some of the children don’t even know who the people are that live in their “homes” and “care for them”. Homes often consist of dirt floors, no beds, a sheet draped over the entrance to the house that acts as a “front door”, no running water, and no electricity.

But there is hope………God is doing some amazing things in Zambia to battle the darkness that satan has created in that country. Family Legacy Missions International (Family Legacy Missions International ) is the group we partnered with on our trip and we continue to work with them today to fulfill the need to build homes for children in Zambia who are living in the most unbearable circumstances. While we were there, we met a precious little girl named Selah who lived in an environment completely unsuitable for any child in this world. You truly need to read her story at Family Legacy Missions International s House to really appreciate why we remain involved with Family Legacy and feel led to build this house in Selah’s honor.

The reason for my email today is simply to inform you of our next steps.

We are doing an all-day golf fundraiser called Birdies for Selah on August 31 here in Tyler. 8 guys are playing 90 holes in one day and taking pledges for how many birdies we can make collectively. We expect the number to be between 100-125. See the attached forms for more detailed information. If golf is not your thing, you can still invite people to make a general donation via the attached pledge form or at Family Legacy Missions International s House .

Please note that all pledges and donations are tax-deductible and there is a little extra incentive for all pledges of $5 or more per birdie. I have 4 tickets to the BCS College Football National Championship game (which happens to be the Rose Bowl this year). All pledges of $5 or more per birdie will be entered into a drawing for these tickets. Can you really beat a $500 tax-deductible gift to a great cause with the chance of winning tickets to college football’s biggest game? I didn’t think so!!! J

Please forward this as necessary to your golf buddies, office associates, clients, church members, etc. and feel free to have people contact me directly if they have questions. Your pledges and donations will forever make a difference in the lives of these special kids and I can’t thank you enough for your continued support of this cause that means so much to Erin and me.

this is a great cause - please think about making a pledge - I know that all of you make donations to other causes. We just ask that you think about making a small pledge or donation. Thank you in advance.
