You don't like the office ? parks and rec ? mad men ? Parks & Rec- I need to see this. Mad Men- I missed the boat on that one. Breaking Bad- I could not stick with this self destructive tale. Recently watched premier of Tera Nova (Fox) and Person of Interest (CBS). Both were disappointments. Person of Interest was watchable but I did not quite buy how info is passed to the main character to intervene in a near future crime. Sound familiar? (Minority Report) When I was 12 years old, I'd have been thrilled with Tera Nova. But it's just a TV show, it looks, feels, smells, like a TV show, nothing memorable about this except the Australia location and the scenery. The characters are surprisingly bland. The CGI was passable, but nothing special. They did take the time to explain that the journey back in time was a one way trip, and that it was to a different time stream so there was no problem with effecting their own past, in the future. Apparently they can communicate with where they came from. Some hints at intrigue, but they need to come a long way to become something I'd stick with. A show like The Walking Dead or The Killing runs circles around this show when it comes to human drama. |

The Walking Dead is brilliant. It's the only active show on TV which I am still watching. ![]() ![]() Sadly after 3 hours I gave up on the River (ABC). It is edgy, I tolerated the format, thankfully it's not 100% documentary style, but with all the cameras they use, all most. I did not really bond with the characters, and it has a rather high level of constant tension so that (for myself) the tension became diminished. As a rule I don't like documentary because it really ties up the story telling and I really dislike the jerky camera effect although The River did not go too far in that direction. |

Downton Abbey Season Two Final- What a show!! After two tumultuous seasons, true love!
![]() The Walking Dead- First a gun fight, then an evil look! Things are bound to heat up between Rick and Shane, over Lori while she whispers in Rick's ear how dangerous Shane is.... You see when she thought Rick was dead, she and Shane....well, guess. ![]() What new show would you recommend for me? Bare in mind I don't find much time to sit and watch them anymore so I would prefer something which isn't too far in! You seem like a man who knows his TV Shows well. * Modern Family- Outstanding 30 min comedy (ABC). * Game of Thrones- Simply incredible (HBO, serialized). And the book is in my top ten list. * Dexter- Outstanding Serial Killer show, he only kills bad people, convenient since he works for the Miami Police Dept. (Showtime, serialized). * The Walking Dead- Outstanding apocalyptic zombie show (serialized, AMC). * Downton Abbey- Outstanding historical drama set in 1920's England. Season 2 just finished on PBS here in the States. I believe it showed in England earlier in the year. * Southland- Pretty good cop drama set in L.A. * The Killing- Outstanding serialized murder mystery on AMC. Older shows: *Rome (HBO)- Incredible during it's glory days, serialized. *Deadwood(HBO)- Outstanding Western, based on Deadwood, South Dakota, serialized. *Sopranos (HB)). Gangsters in New Jersey, outstanding, serialized. |

I think I'm going to start watching this. Because I'm a huge fan of AMC, I only realised last night I've watched/watching 3 of there shows at the moment, and I'm enjoying them all. So will give this ago as AMC has yet to let me down. |

I don't know how it will be in the UK, but in the U.S. the only thing that keeps AMC from being the perfect network are commercials. I'd like to pitch the Walking Dead also on AMC. The first season was incredible. I never thought a zombie show could be so good and it's good not because of the zombies, it's due to the portrayal of people thrown into an apocalyptic survival situation and their interaction with each other, inside their group and outside the group. ![]() Here in the UK were really far behind you guys in the states when it comes to TV shows, so I have to watch all my TV shows online so I can keep up! |

As I anxiously await the return of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, I'll ask, any Vampire Diaries fans? We started watching Season 1. It's nothing great but good enough to keep us watching.
![]() If you like historical dramas, then you'd better be watching Downton Abbey Season 2. It has not disappointed! ![]() is looking very interesting on ABC (Feb7 debut). |

I just finished up the first and last season of Luck on HBO, the series centered around horse racing. It was not a blockbuster, nor thriller, but an ensemble story of which most of the characters I liked. Kind of sorry to see it go. Apparently they had an issue of real horses dieing, two during racing scenes and one fluke accident. I think the question becomes horses race all the time and get injured. Was the way they filmed the races, camera trucks in close proximity to the horses was the extra threat?
Luck Canceled HBO cancels Luck after 3 horses die on set. |

I think this is very reflective of the problem with general network TV in the States- Entertainment Weekly Top Ten List for April 13, 2012:
Last night caught up on Game of Thrones(HBO)- still sweet as honey, probably one of the best shows on TV! And The Killing (AMC), maybe starting to drag a bit. I heard they lost 33% of their viewership after their stunt last season, having the nerve to not wrap up the investigation! ![]() |

ALERT: Walking Dead on tonight!
![]() Just finished the first two seasons of Vampire Diaries. I can recommend it if you are into pop vampire stories. I'm a little irritated they did not wrap up the Claus story. I understand that Season 3 is just about finished airing. I need to see if I can find it on-demand from my cable provider. I prefer not watching it on my computer if it can be helped or just wait until they start reairing Season3 in prep for Season4... Does CW (network) do that? Anyone? ![]() Teaser Image, LOL |
