Default My Blog
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have resumed by reading of the Qur'an this summer and blogging my questions, comments, and progress. Too much time has passed in between last summer and this one, and I was away for much longer than I expected.

http://yeshmayin.wordpress.com/

I wanted to invite anyone who is interested to come read and share comments with me. I welcome all comments, even if I don't have any specific questions at the moment. Sometimes I may not yet realize that I have a question until I read a comment! So, please feel free to post any comments on the passages that I read if you feel a desire to.

Hi Sister,

Nice blog

http://yeshmayin.wordpress.com/2012/...-rum-301-3060/

The addition "God shall" is implied from the previous verse number 11.

[30:11] Allah originates the creation, then He will create it again, then to Him you are to be returned.

[30:12] On the day when the Hour (Qiyamah : the Day of Judgement)) will take place, the guilty will be taken aback in grief and despair.

Thanks

Thanks, Colonel Hardstone.

BTW, if you ever want to comment on a post on the blog, you can do so anonymously. I made it to allow anonymous replies, so that people wouldn't have to give out an e-mail addy or any other personal information. (But I also made it so that I have to approve every reply post, to avoid someone spamming. So, replies don't show up right away.)

Sure.

Is there a little intro on why you picked that name for your blog?

Thanks.

In the "about" section I briefly comment that the blog name yesh m'ayin is a concept of something from nothing. I don't go into any detail about it.

I looked around to see if I could find you a good explanation of the concept on-line, since I am often poor at explaining things, and the last half of this article talks about it:

Have you ever felt the urge to embrace Islam, in this journey of yours?

I apologize, but I am not entirely sure how to answer your question, and I realize that this is the most stupid of replies.

I just read through a lot of your blog and I gotta say, its really good.

I love how you organized your blogs about the different surahs of the Qur'an. Keep it up sister.

PS: The Book Thief was an amazing book! How'd you like it?
May I suggest another book by the same author, titled "I am the Messenger"
Give it a try, its better than his first book, in my opinion.

PSS: If you're done reading The Sealed Nectar, you should also read "Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources."
I've read it recently and think its a great book on the sirah. Just a suggestion.

PSS; I just realized that the thread we were having our discussion on has been closed. If you want to continue the discussion, a new thread should be made, as I dont want to end up hijacking someone else's thread again.

Thank you, but I can not take credit for how good it is. I think what makes it good is all the wonderful contributions from others. I really value all of the comments and things I have learned this way. I have decided that once I finish reading through this Qur'an, then I'd like to get a tafsir, possibly the one recommended by Colonel Hardstone, and then read through that.

I've been meaning to ask you the same question. I mean, you've read so much about Islam, the Qur'an and our Prophet Muhammad (saw). Has it ever impacted you in such a way that made you consider becoming Muslim?

And which one did he recommend, was it Ma'ariful Qur'an? Cause that ones really good if you really want to understand the Qur'an.
Anyway, keep up your studies of Islam.

Oops, it was Maripat, not Colonel Hardstone that recommended one: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...l=1#post773673

They both gave such good, helpful information that I was mixed up who gave the recommendation. My apologies!

I don't know if I will be able to find that one to purchase though. I haven't yet looked, but finding the things I am looking for is often difficult. If amazon.com doesn't have it, then I am often out of luck!
