my question would be, Our Prophet () never lied in spreading the truth, and yet, shia invented taqiya as a necessity to fight against falsehood? That doesn't sound like practising according to sunnah at all, and yet claim to love The Prophet and Ahlul Bayt?

Another question would be;
Our Prophet () mentioned that the period of his ummah would be prophethood, then by the method of prophethood, then biting kingdoms, then oppressive rulers, and after that by the method of prophethood.

If Abu Bakr(r.a), Umar(r.a) and Uthman(r.a) were oppressive, then that didn't go so well with the above hadith, right?

Oh another question, name one sunni mosque in tehran, out of more than a 100 mosques there.

My question would be, don't you have anything better to do than coming en masse on Sunniforum during Ramadan and utilize your typical deceptive ways trying to lure Muslims into your filthy beliefs?

Do you think you are making a good impression and that your lies and taqiyyah will bring love in our hearts for you?...

Salams All,
Firstly can I just say how wonderful this forum is which I've only recently discovered. I've been visiting regularly though have only just signed up.

Briefly introducing myself, I'm 27 and although work in the City (London), I am also a freelance documentary film maker, embarking on my first solo project looking into Islam, it's History, sects, cultures and beliefs.

Can you help me?

If you could ask the Shia one (or two / three) one sentance questions, what would you ask them?

Please note, my intention here is not to cause controversy or problems, so please help me by keeping posts respectful.

All the same however, I am looking for every single type of question that comes to mind. For example, some questions that come to my mind are:

1. Why do shia people pray on a 'rock' when they prostrate in Namaz?
2. Why is the battle of Kerbala such a big deal?
3. Do the Shia view non Shia as Kaffir?
4. Do the Shia pray differently?

I will be taking these questions to the highest feasible levels in an attempt to see what questions can (and can't) be satisfactorily answered, taking a completely unbiased and fair approach.

You need not give any details about yourself - but it would greatly help if you would be willing to state:
1. Your age
2. Your sex (male / female)
3. Your Location
4. Your ethnic background

Inshallah, I will post the documentary online for you all to see, comment on and provide me feedback

Thanks - please feel free to contact me if you have any questions for me personally or my project, I am more than happy to answer them
salaam
i was simply doing a research when i came across this site and therefore your question, i am shia, and im from africa, im a 17 year old female

i would like to answer question no 4
we do pray a little different from the way you do, for instance we use the khaak to do our sajdah, and we do not pray with folded arms
in addition to that, we do not turn on both sides to make our salam, since it is turning away from quibla, which is not permissible until the salah is over...
please feel free to ask anything, as im also looking for some information
ahsant, wassalaam

Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman were all common names at that time. In fact there were over 70 companions of the Prophet PBUH named Umar.
Isn't it the common names still ??? infact since islam spread all over the world its more common than before.

2) is it true that the wife of your mehdi would be doing mutah since mutah is considered a very great act among you shia's

Sister your prayers are problematic because, when you offer Salah behind an Imam. Because Prophet(Saw) said there is no Salat without Surah Fatiha and shias who recite salah behind Imam doesn't recite Fatiha. You might say that similar is the case with some Sunnis who follow particular fiqh, but those Sunnis Say AMEEN after the Imam finishes Surah Fatiha, So they are included in what the Imam recited. Where as the Shias consider it impermissible to say Ameen in Salah.
