Default Have you forgotten about Ad-Dajjal?
Salaamu alaiykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu
As is normally my tendency, I like to start a thread about a lecture which I heard recently (and I run the risk of getting it ignored like most of my other posts ). This time the lecture was: "The return of Jesus - Uthman Lateef". Pretty good lecture alhamdullilah and it really reminds me of dajaal. I won't be surprised if many of you forget to ask in your dua protection from dajal regularly. If you do, then alhamdullilah and you will be a key contributer to this thread inshallaah. Let us then discuss about dajjal. I will start by saying something from that lecture which is that a taste of the fitnah of dajjal is present today. People who leave Islam are people who have been affected by the fitnah of Dajjal. If you leave the deen because of modern day reasons, like comfort of this world, power over the weak, doubts due to modern day atheists and the like, then you have been hit by the fitnah of dajjal. Those who haven't but are struggling in this, barakallahu feekum - roll your sleeves and get ready for the tide to increase. Here are two points I would like to make:
1) Stay away from fitnah if you can e.g. going to a place where there is free mixing, going to a place where people are discussing the proofs and evidences against Islam etc.
2) Memorise surah al kahf - first and last ten verses.
I remind myself first and then all of you.
May Allah help us.

Assalam o Alaikum!

Everytime I tried to escape from these things. But you know I wanna change something in my life.
Its a fact that when you are away from sinful things/society/gathering ultimately u become a good person. But what about that when you have to live in a sinful society/gathering, then??? Yea, there would be a lot much chance of indulging in those -ve stuffs.

So, I am trying to make my emaan as much strong that nothing could make a -ve impact over me. No matterif I am in a sinful place. I just wanna make my self vanish from these things, I wanna kill my nafs and all of my desires.
Just like a majzoob

And that would be a enjoyable life When you are not in ur senses to see, hear, feel the worldly things. I just want to taste that part of life

What kind of place are you talking about? Yeah, every place has a sinful society/gathering but then there are still places where we can escape from this e.g. at home or in the masjid. But interestingly, if you can live among this society without falling into it, then your iman will actually be stronger and you can do da'wah. But if you can't (and never trust the strength of your iman) then it's best to stay away. Note that I'm not promoting ascetisism in which you don't go outside at all because of this. If you have to go outside then go outside and do istiqaama. If you survive, you will actually return stronger by the will of Allah. But don't make it a habit to attend these gatherings without a reason.

Me too man. It does take time and patience I've heard (most people can't suddenly have a huge elevation of iman and keep it there for the rest of their life - they increase it slowly but keeping the progress going allowing some fluctuations here and there). Just make it easy upon yourself to do this strengthening of iman - stay around pious people (the advice they give you is priceless), try and spend some time pondering by yourself about your life and what you're doing to it and whether you are being a slave of Allah or a slave of creation, and finally, du'a to Allah SWT the muqallibul qulub.
May Allah allow us to reach the heights of iman.
Now what say you (or any other person) about dajaal and his signs of fitnah among us and how it will increase. I'm curious. Would the fitnah increase through more enforcement/resistance (physically, mentally etc.) towards those who still follow Islam? Would the fitnah increase through more "convincing proofs" from the non-muslims against Islam? Would the fitnah increase through more free mixing and beautiful yet evil women/men? Anyone with information like this, please share

Bump - I also heard from Uthman Lateef's (hafidhullah) talk that the dajjal will not come until the people have forgotten about him or considered him unimportant.
