Sex education for five year olds

Explicit cartoons, films and books have been cleared for use to teach sex education to schoolchildren as young as five.

A disturbing dossier exposes a wide range of graphic resources recommended for primary school lessons.

The shocking material – promoted by local councils and even the BBC – teaches youngsters about adult language and sexual intercourse.

Among the books singled out in the report is How Did I Begin? by Mick Manning and Brita Granstrom which has a cartoon image of a couple in bed in an intimate embrace.

It is accompanied by an explanation – using frank and adult terminology – of the act of intercourse.

Another, called The Primary School Sex And Relationships Education Pack by HIT UK, includes material to allow children aged five to 11 to learn about different sexual positions and prostitution.

The BBC has been highlighted for an educational video featuring full frontal nudity, while its learning resources department, BBC Active, shows computer-generated images of male genitalia.

All the material has been recommended by councils for use at ages ‘seven-plus’.

The dossier, compiled by the Christian Institute, also pinpoints a book called Let’s Talk About Sex, by Robie H Harris, which includes a chapter on heterosexuality called ‘Straight and Gay’.

Furious family campaigners have described the material as ‘too much, too young’ and warn it will encourage sexualisation.

Mike Judge, of the Christian Institute, said: ‘The current approach to sex education demands ever more explicit sex education at ever younger ages. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ntingPage=true

I was browsing some news forums and stumbled upon this article. I don't think i have to go into much detail as most of us already know the state of educational institutes in UK. So how do we go about saving our future generations from such filth?

Two options that come to my mind:

-Homeschooling

-Islamic schooling

http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/salam.gif A combination of home schooling and Islamic schooling might be better.

They are trying to push us homeedu to teach our kids sex education. So, islamic school might be hard to get away with it but homedu probably can win over the fight because we do not have to follow the curriculum while most islamic shool have. So, Homeschool is better solution but I was always wonder why plenty of muslim did not go for this option. Many homeeducator is non muslim.

I don't like sex education in schools cause they make it sound like zina is OK or homosexuality is OK, and so on

However, the Muslims obviously need to educate their children with regards to sex, do they not? Children need to learn when ghusl is performed, that masturbation is haram, that a spouse has a right to satisfaction, etc etc etc

Most of that can just be done by giving them a book, like the one done by Mufti Ibn Adam

you are definatly right there. in this day and age homeschooling is the best solution. but many parents are not educated and some of those who are would prefer to save themselves from the hassle sadly

I don't know about other western countries, but in the UK they are not exacting and you don't have to be a genius to do homeschooling because you can get other people to help you and even use paid tutors for a few of hours a week on subjects that you are not good on etc.

there are also homeschooling groups where you can take your home schooled children and do group educational activities with them...

I know people who home-school their children and whose children are doing better than they would at school through it.

me and my wife are considering doing it until our children are 11 and can go to a good Islamic school - because there is no good Islamic primary school where we are.
