Random Deep Questions
Despite attempts at constant remembrance of Allah in the heart, an alternative force appears to have more power, which leads one to disobedience and laziness. I presume this is the nafs. How does the negative influence overpower the remembrance of Allah in the heart and how can one reverse the situation?
Secondly, what is the remedy to the recurring despondency one feels because of lack of spiritual progress? Third, if one is not a scholar, how does one decipher what course of action to take in our daily life, especially when there may be no explicit fiqhi ruling on the matter? How can one begin to FEEL Allah in their heart and thereby feel contentment at all times? How does one distinguish between the promptings of the nafs and the promptings of Allah and the angel appointed to each and every one of us? |

Okay since noone has replied as of yet the following are just my understanding, hopefully more knowledgable brothers and sisters will give a more comprehensive reply Insha'Allah. (1) Whilst making zikr many of the shuyookh recommend beginners, to use a tasbeeh even when the zikr is silent, if you have a tasbeeh in the hand you naturally start rolling the beads and making Zikr and the Tasbeeh is highly addictive, you could also record zikr on an mp3 and play it continuosly whilst trying to repeat the words in your heart. The Ulemah state that even when Zikr is made by a beginner with lack of concentration and focus it will still impact the heart. 2) The Shuyookh call this state Qabdh, and solution is to stick to the Zikr, the feelings of despondency it will pass after a while Insha'Allah. 3) Salatul Istikharah How can one feel Allah in the heart and contentment at all times this takes time and persistence in Zikr. How does one distinguish? Ask yourself If your action is for the sake of Allah. The following site might be of some Benefit Insha'Allah..http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...QY7gOQ&cad=rja Qabdh: Spiritual contraction An individual complained that from many days I feel as though the special relationship with Allah (nisbet) has been lifted from me. There remains no interest in the daily wird and worship. Shaykh Sayyid Zawwar Hussain Shah (Allah have mercy on him) said, ‘This is not the removal of nisbet. This state is called the spiritual contraction (qabdh). The nisbet is removed by committing infidelity (kufr), associating partners with Allah (shirk), involvement in innovations (bida’) and major sins (kabair). Whereas, the state of qabdh afflicts all including the novice and the advanced spiritual traveler. When it occurs the individual considers that this might be due to indulgence in sinful acts and therefore repents. In fact the repentance done in this state is much more sincere than done in the state of spiritual expansion (bast). Whenever afflicted by qabd one should increase in repentance, recite la hawla wa la quwwata illa biallah in abundance and continue with the daily wird and worship with extra effort. There should be no absence from these daily activities, even accomplishing a portion of them will suffice.’ Mahnama Tamir e ifkar, eshaet khas bayad Shaykh Syed Zawwar Hussain Shah (Allah have mercy on him), page 606-7 source Ashrafiya blog...http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct...UxPouA&cad=rja |

just keep at it; stop all sins too no matter how minor they may seem such as watching worthless things on telivision; and above all, best thing to do is join a sufi tariqah and do as the masters advice; their zikr and timetable of various types of devotions are worked out for this very reason; to beat the nafs into submission Quote:

or one can do istikhara... also be very carefull about insincerity; if there is doubt, leave it out, i.e, after one does salaah, if you do nafl salaah do it for Allah's pleasure alone [angels do prompt us to offer more salaah], but if you feel in your heart that the real motivation might be to get that wonderfull feeling in your heart, then this may be insincerity so in this case leave it for it well maybe prompting of the satan here are hadiths advising to consult heart: Sahih Muslim ,Book 32, Number 6195: Nawwas bin Sim'an al-Ansiri reported: I asked Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) about Al-Birr(Righteousness) and Al-Ithm(Evil).He (may peace be upon him) said,"Al-Bir (piety and righteousness) entails good conduct, while Al-Ithm (sin) is what rankles in your heart and that you disapprove that people should come to know of it," Wabisah ibn Ma'bad said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah , who then said: "You came to ask about Al-Bir?' I said "Yes." He said. "Seek the answer in your heart! Al- Bir is that which your inner self feels good about, and that which your heart feels good about. Al-Ithm is that (evil thought) which crosses your mind and which is persistent (as being evil) in your inner-self, even if the people give you a Fatawa, time and again allowing what you feel unease about" |

1.We should gather strength to desperately beg Allah SWT never to give up. 2.We ought to work harder at it because if we’re trying and are still failing it just means we’re not trying hard enough. Allah SWT would never burden us with more than we can handle and on top of that He SWT is extremely loving and desires so much for us to succeed; when we ‘walk’ to Him SWT, He SWT ‘Runs’ to us (hadith Qudsi). So success is guaranteed of we try our best and we should never despair. May we never despair! Amin! Quote:
May Allah SWT grant all of us an excellent opinion of Him SWT that pleases Him SWT very much. Please say amin everyone.Barak Allah ta’aala. |

Still, Allah SWT tells us: (Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.) (Qur'an 13: 28) In other words, He SWT is telling us the peace we are seeking lies in His SWT remembrance. Wallahu a'llam. Barak Allah ta'aala |
Bismihi Ta’ala
1.) “Shaytaan sits glued to the heart of man. When man makes the Zikr of Allah, shaytaan abdicates (moves off); when man is negligent of Allah’s Zikr the shaytaan casts evil whisperings in man.” (Bukhaari) 2.) We reverse the situation with remembrance and obedience (Zikr). … The following is an extract from Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (RA)’s book : Aashiq-e-Sawdiq (www.YunusPatel.co.za): TWO TYPES OF ZIKR As has been mentioned, numerous times, there are two types of Zikr : Positive Zikr and Negative Zikr. Positive Zikr entails fulfilling the rights of Allah Ta’ala. Thus, an Aashiq of Allah Ta’ala performs his Salaah, pays his Zakaat, fasts in the month of Ramadaan, performs Haj and fulfills the rights of everyone. Everything done is in perfect obedience to Allah Ta’ala, with an enthusiasm and an eagerness to please his Beloved Allah. The negative aspect of Zikr necessitates abstinence from all things that are displeasing to Allah Ta’ala; those actions and deeds which He has declared as Haraam (forbidden). Ishq or Love has two demands : 1.) To do that which pleases the Beloved. 2.) To refrain from anything and everything that displeases the Beloved. Allah Ta’ala says : “…BUT THOSE WHO HAVE IMAAN ARE MORE INTENSE IN THEIR LOVE FOR ALLAH…” 3.) You should try and download and read the book “Feeling Spiritually Low?” from the website: www.YunusPatel.co.za. Hazrat Maulana (RA) gives a detailed explanation of Qabz, together with prescriptions – similar to the explanation given by Shaykh Sayyid Zawwar Hussain Shah 4.) Istikharah is Sunnah. Mashwarah is also a Sunnah. So you should also consult with and seek the guidance of a pious, righteous, experienced Shaykh/Aalim on Haq. 5.) Allah Ta’ala states in Surah At-Taubah: “O You who Believe, Fear Allah and join the company of the Truthful ones (the pious, the Auliya Allah).” [Surah Taubah 9 : 119] Hazrat Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb (DB)) had given a Tafseer of “wa-koonu ma-as-Sawdiqeen” – as “STAY WITH THEM UNTIL YOU BECOME LIKE THEM…” i.e. If you want that same kind of Ma`rifah (recognition of Allah Ta'ala), Nisbat-ma-Allah (Connection with Allah Ta'ala), akhlaaq, Salaah, etc. remain in the company of the Truthful ones – those who are sincere and truthful in their piety to Allah Ta’ala. And draw from their pious company, those priceless qualities. You can download and read Hazrat Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb’s books from www.khanqah.org __________________________ __________________________ Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (RA) explains in “Aashiq-e-Sawdiq” : Allah Ta'ala states : “O You who Believe, Fear Allah and join the company of the Truthful ones (the pious, the Auliya Allah).” [Surah Taubah 9 : 119] "Allah Ta’ala enjoins upon His servants to adopt the quality of Taqwa and then graciously provides the simplest means of acquiring Taqwa, namely, the company of the pious and righteous. The suhbat (company) of the Ahlullah (Friends of Allah Ta'ala) (friends of Allah) is the key to unlocking the treasure chest of both Imaan and Taqwa, and enjoying the wealth of Wilayat (friendship), Qurb (proximity) and Ma-iyyat (togetherness) of Allah Ta’ala and His Beloved Rasul (Sallallaahu 'alayhi waSallam)." |

The constant remembrance of Allah can be obtained from dhikr-e-qalbi (zikr of the heart). This is the most superior form of dhikr. Please read this book for background information. There is wealth of information here as well: http://www.naqshbandiaowaisiah.com/index.html dhikr-e-qalbi, its method must be taught by someone who has learnt it himself and is in touch with a Kamil Sheikh. Let me know if this interests you. |
