![]() Ever wondered how all of us make dua to Allah to increase our rizq. How we are always worried about making investments and increasing our income? Ever wondered, why we never ever think about reducing our expenses and making sincere dua to Allah to reduce our expenses? ![]() |

As-Salaamu ‘alaykum wa-Rahmatullah
The Hadith of Bukhari and Muslim is : “Richness does not come from an abundance of wealth; (true) richness is the richness of the heart.” That is, the person is blessed with contentment. However, there is nothing wrong in making dua for an increase in one's Rizq. I wish to just bring to attention a discussion by a great Shaykh, Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (Rahmatullahi ‘alayh), in regards to the following ayat: In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah Ta’ala states : And from them are also those who say : “O our Rabb, grant us good in this world, and good in the hereafter and save us from the punishment of the fire.” This dua is a masnoon dua which Nabi (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wa-Sallam) recited in abundance. From among many, many beautiful points the Respected Shaykh, Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (RA) had mentioned in this discussion, Hazrat Maulana also explained: “We also learn from this dua that Allah Ta’ala does not prevent us from seeking the material things of this world. We are living in a world of means and there are many requirements for our existence. Allah Ta’ala encourages and approves the dua wherein a person is seeking his worldly needs as well. It is as if Allah Ta’ala is telling us, “Make this dua, in which you seek the good of this world also.” Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (RA) also explained that ‘Hasana fid dunya’ includes : 1.) ‘Aafiya’ : Well-being and Protection from all forms of Fitnahs. 2.) Sufficiency in Rizq (Sustenance), and Wealth which is obtained through Halaal sources, full of Barakah (blessings) and free of contamination and impurity. 3.) A pious, righteous, compatible marriage partner. 4.) Pious children 5.) Thana-e-Khalq – The praise and good opinion of people. 6.) Beneficial knowledge and practice upon it. 7.) Fahm or Understanding of Deen. 8.) Suhbat-e-Sawliheen ( The company of the pious). 9.) Help against all enemies, including the greatest ones – nafs and Shaytaan. And much more..." Extracted from the 1431 Ramadaan Fajr talks of Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (RA). Available from the website : YunusPatel.co.za May Allah Ta’ala grant Hazrat Maulana the best of Aakhirah. Aameen. |
