Default A new Imam Alhumdulillah
After not having an Imam at my community's largest masjid for a long time, alhumdulillah Allah has blessed us with an excellent leader. Everyone please make dua for Imam Suhaib Webb, and for our community all over the US and the world. May Allah make his move easy and may Allah strengthen us with a great leader, Ameen.

Yes, I'm just wondering how they got him because they were looking for an imam for a while.

Sulaiman bhai,

When I was there(2009) , I think they had some Egyptian Imam. What happened to him.

The imam in question I guess was not very tolerant of the work.

He's the Imam of another Masjid but he was there because the two Masjids are affiliated with one another. The Ahwaal is now albeit some restrictions on itikaaf, the work goes on in both Masjids. More so with the bigger Masjid.

TJ can use his although Shuhaib Webb is not a TJ.
No muslim is TJ and every muslim is responsible for D'awah and Tabligh. But you know that already..

Very happy to hear Shaikh Shuaib Webb will be the Imam there, .

Imam Basyouni was here before, but he was the Imam of the ISB in Cambridge, took on the role of Imam at ISBCC since we didnt have one, either way he wasnt going to be here forever in the first place. He returned overseas a couple months ago to continue his studies for 2 years, then he is returning to America to continue his work here inshallah. The reason why ISBCC was Imamless for so long is that it was difficult to find someone who knew how to deal with the community, who understood it and knew how to lead it. With significant American born population, many Imams did not know how to adjust their methodology to best work with such a population. Many many prospective Imams were interviewed before Suhaib Webb was interviewed. And Alhumdulillah he has what it takes inshallah. He was in Boston to join us on a small retreat just before Ramadan, and again to lead a workshop at ISBCC. He also gave the first Eid Khutba here after the ISBCC opened. Anyway we are grateful to Allah swt for blessing us with a great leader Alhumdulillah.
