I think its a website run by muslims to answer back some of the anti-Islamic websites. I do not know if they have the backing of the ulema, But they are refuting anti-islamic statements.

Not completely reliable: some of the people running it seem to be influenced by deviant sects, so everyhing has to be taken with a pinch of salt..

Can you please explain which parts of the website you viewed which gave you that impression because for an ignorant like me, it's very hard to pick out.

They often indulge in DIY-Islam explainations and so on.

I'd suggest you to have a search on this forum: I think this issue has already been discussed..
