RAWALPINDI: A senior Pakistan Army official has been arrested due to his links with a banned outfit, DG ISPR confirmed to Geo News.

According DG ISPR, Major-General Athar Abbas, Brigadier Ali Khan who was on a routine GHQ posting is being probed and any further information would hamper the probe.

He added that the Army had a strict system of internal security and no one was allowed to violate Army discipline. No further details were provided about the Brigadier.

According to sources, the detained brigadier was in contact with the Hizb-ul-Tehrir.

Hizb-ul-Tehrir was banned during the tenure of President Musharraf in 2004. It is active in Britain and other western countries.

they are just trying to show america that they are dealing with rotten apples in Pak army, soon they will suspend some people form ISI on same charges. whats wrong with being the member of HT, I don't know about their feeqhi and aqedah position but their political ideas are not that extreme as portrayed by the media.

HT does NOT disbelieve in the punishment of the grave. They only say that disbelief in punishment of the grave is NOT grounds for takfeer.

Of all the good and vital things that HT present and discuss and spread awareness about in the world, people only focus on issue of contention with them.

The absence of the khilafa state is the downfall and misery of the Ummah, of a billion people, and yet some mock about issue of Aqidah and peripheral Aqidah issues of which d nt address our reality.

Its as if Muslims are becoming like Jews of the times of the Prophets (as). The Prophets (as) guide to the Haqq and the Jews were busy arguing with them, mocking them, and beloving their own sects.

Let us be clear, being Ahlil Sunnah today does NOT save you from the chaos and corruption today. We have Sunni ulama legalizing riba, qaumiya, kufr laws and treaties, and giving support to kufar military invasions of Muslim lands.

And dont get me started on Pakistan. It needs to be utterly rebuilt. Its ruling establishment is against Islam and should be soundly overthrown. The consittution should be trashed. All the elites have to be rounded up and investigated for embezzling govt funds and corruption.
Pakistan is currently under occupation by the American special forces which has to be dealt with.
