Reviling The Messenger of Allah (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam)
By E ISLAM TEAM

Allah, The Most Exalted, says "We have not sent thee(Muhammad peace be upon him) Except as a Mercy to the Worlds." (Qur’an:Surah 21 Aayat 107)

Humanity, both Muslims and Non-Muslims bear testimony to the excellent character of the Noble and Last Messenger of Allah Ta’ala (peace be upon him). It is tragic that every now and then, biased and offensive works against Islam and Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) are circulated in the media. In addition to the recent provocative anti-Prophet film, a satirical French magazine published new cartoons mocking Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him). It is a repeated scenario: the same messages of enmity, hate and antagonism are being recycled again and again.

Any film or publication which vilifies any Prophet of Almighty Allah (pbuh) justifies condemnation. This film not only vilifies the personality who is revered by billions of followers in every part of the world, but is also constitutes a grave misrepresentation.

The offensive film is directed at the following mischief:-

Firstly, it is obviously intended to create the furor and backlash which it has achieved. The evil perpetrators of this heinous conduct i.e. all those associated, in any way whatsoever with the creation and dissemination of such film intended and effectuated the loss of lives and other negative consequences that have since ensued.

Secondly, these evil doers are also driven by the desire to profit as much as possible financially from such unconscionable conduct and in compromise of all and any semblance of decency they have traded their souls for money.

Loving the Messenger of Allah Ta’ala (peace be upon him) and feeling offended when he is insulted is expected from every Muslim and is a fundamental part of our Imaan (belief). However, the way such good feelings are put in action makes a huge difference. A wise response would turn such a challenge into a great opportunity to reach out to people and to raise their awareness about the Messenger of Allah Ta’ala (peace be upon him) and his message. Our response should be wise, tactful and calculated so that it has the greatest impact.

What can we do?

· Turn to Allah Ta’ala by means of Dua (Prayer) and ask Him to protect the honour and dignity of Muhammad (peace be upon him). Indeed all affairs are only in the Control of Allah Ta’ala.
· Appropriate legal and other proceedings be instituted against the perpetrators as no reasonable and civilized society should and would tolerate such heinous and base conduct.
· Extensive public condemnation together with adequate penalties and punishment within the relevant legal framework should be imposed and in this respect both appropriate criminal and civil proceedings should be instituted.
· Increase the recitation of Salaat and Salaam(Durood Shareef/sending blessings) on The Messenger of Allah Ta’ala (peace be upon him).
· Demonstrate to the world the excellent Akhlaaq (Character) of Muhammad (peace be upon him) by inculcating within us the noble sunnah (lifestyle) of The Messenger of Allah Ta’ala (peace be upon him).
· Make it our duty to educate our family, friends and colleagues about the Great Last and Final Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who has indeed been sent as a Mercy to the Entire Humanity.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
"None of you has perfect faith until I am more beloved to him than his parents, his children and all the people". (Hadith- Bukhari, Muslim).

“One who attains the following three things will taste the sweetness of faith: To make Allaah and His Messenger more beloved to himself than anything else; To love a person for no other reason except for the sake of Allaah; And to hate to return to disbelief just as much as he would hate to be thrown into fire.” (Hadith-Bukhaari, Muslim).

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever says, 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Bukhari :: Book 75 :: Volume 8 :: Hadith 414 )
Alhamdulillah, I recently started reciting the following in sets of 3 at different times during the day (at least once a day):

Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi adada khalqihi
wa rida'a nafsihi
wa zinatah 'arshihi
wa midada kalimatihi...but don't know how this practice fits in with the sunnah nor do I know if I ever hit 100 recitations... insha'Allah I will make an effort to recite 100x daily but wonder if I should only recite "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi" 100x.

inshaAllaah u can do both? I believe they're two diff sunnahs..

the one already mentioned (100 x subhaanAllaaahi wa bihamdihi)
and the other tasbeeh u mentioned (maashaAllaah!)
to be recited thrice..

Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with her) reported, the Mother of the Believers: The Prophet (PBUH) came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Are you still in the same position as I left you.'' I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, "I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, `adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah `arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi
[Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)].''
[Sahih Muslim].

sister, masha'Allah you are very helpful. I knew about the sunnah of the one I posted but wasn't sure how it would relate to the other tasbih the brother posted (sunnah #3) here... alhamdulillah from your answer I see that they are two separate sunnahs and insha'Allah both can be followed...

Maybe I'll wait 3 days and repeat the one I just posted as the next sunnah

Insha'Allah we can all make the effort to recite both.

Ohh mashaALLAH t3ala! Thats wonderful, let us know how you like the miswaak!
Subhanallah t3ala, miswaaks are a greaaaaat blessing!

.....The Ulama say that.....brushing one's teeth (with miswak)carries seventy benefits ,one of which is that of being able to recite the Kalimah at the time of his death.{Fazail-e-ziker,chapter 2,note of hadith 38}

Also, more benefits:

1. Miswaak strengthens the gums and prevents tooth decay.
2. Miswaak assists in eliminating toothaches and prevents further increase of decay which has already set in.
3. Miswaak creates a fragrance in the mouth.
4. Miswaak is a cure for illness.
5. Miswaak eliminates bad odors and improves the sense of taste.
6. Miswaak sharpens the memory.
7. Miswaak is a cure for headaches.
8. Miswaak creates lustre (noor) on the face of the one who continually uses it.
9. Miswaak causes the teeth to glow.
10. Miswaak strengthens the eyesight.
11. Miswaak assists in digestion.
12. Miswaak clears the voice.
13. The greatest benefit of using miswaak is gaining the pleasure of Allah.
14. The reward of Salaah (Prayers) is multiplied 70 times if Miswaak was used before it.

I think people should continue with this thread. Some may not be reporting regularly bcos they might be practicing this already or for some other reason. This thread is good to remind of sunnahs. Let Allah SWT help us to follow the sunnah of the Prophet SAW. Ameen
Jazakumullah t3ala ahsanal jaza for the encouragement, aameen thumma aameen.

Update (since the sunnahs are all spread out now):

1) Performing Ablution (Wudhu), and doing siwaak upon waking up
2) Reciting dua and rubbing of the effects of sleep upon waking up.
Narrated Hudhayfah , “When the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) got up he would say:

الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

3)Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever says, 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Bukhari :: Book 75 :: Volume 8 :: Hadith 414 )

4) When wearing one's trousers, first put on the right leg, then the left one.
When putting on a kurta or shirt, first put one the right sleeve and then the left one.
The same procedure should be followed when wearing a vest.
When wearing a shoe, first put on the right shoe.
When removing any garment or shoe, first remove the left, then the right.
This is the sunnah method when removing any garment from the body.

Can someone please update this for me, and state the next sunnah, really sorry but didn't get the time to look for hadeeth, you can add any new sunnah doesn't have to be related to waking up, just add the takhreej of hadeeth please.
ALLAH t3ala will reward you greatly inshaALLAH t3ala!

And alhamdulillah t3ala wa mashaALLAH t3ala so far all sunahs are in my daily routine, how about everyone else?

Jazakumullah t3ala ahsanal jaza
Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatULLAHI wa barakatuHU, sister,
JazakILLAH Khairan kathira for starting this beneficial thread.
BiTawfeeqILLAH, I have started doing the very first Sunnah that you mentioned days ago and i am on my way to make it a habit now, inshaAllah. And same goes for the second one, but sometimes i forget to rub off my eyes.

May Allah Ta'ala Reward you immensely for this. Aameen thumma Aameen.
JazakILLAH Khair,
Wassalam ma'al-ikram

Sunnahs#5: Sunnan & Duaas upon entering and leaving the toilet
Here are a few, not all are mentioned

1) It was the practice of Rasulullaah sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam to relieve Himself with His head covered and with his shoes on
(Alaikum Bi sunnati)

2) Before entering the toilet, recite this duaa:
Bismillaah, Allaahumma inni a'oodhubika minal khubuthi wal khabaaith
(Trans: O Allaah! I Seek your from the male and female Jinns)
(Bukhaari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Maajah)
NOTE:Mulla Ali Qaari rahmatullaahi 'alaih has written in Mirqaat that with the blessings of the recitation of this duaa, a veil is cast between the person visiting the toilet and the evil Jinns. Hence, they are unable to see one's private parts. He has also written that the BAA of the word KHUBUTH can be read with either a dhamma (pesh) or a saakin(jazm)
Mirqaat; Vol 1, pg 361

3) When entering the toilet, enter with the left foot
(Alaikum Bi-Sunnati quoting from Ibn Maajah)

4) When removing the undergarment, it is better to lower oneself towards the ground as much as easily possible and thereafter remove the garment
(Satr exposed for as min as possible)
(Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood)

5) When coming out from the toilet, step out with the right foot first and then recite this Duaa:
Ghufraanak - Alhumdulillaahilladhi adh haba 'annil adhaa wa 'aafaanee
(Trans: O Allaah! I seek forgiveness from you*. All praise is due to Allaah who removed from me that which was harmful and granted me safety)
(Ibn Maajah)
*Forgiveness was on the basis for not being able to make Allaah's dhikr in the bathroom

6) Before entering the toilet, remove any ring etc. upon which verses of Quraan or the name of Rasoolullaah sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam is visible (Nasaa'i). If a Ta'weez is covered with a cloth and sewn, it will be permissible to enter the toilet while wearing it.

7) When reliving oneself, do not face the Qiblaa nor turn the back towards it
(Mishkaat, Tirmidhi, Ibn Maajah)

8) When relieving oneself, do not speak except out of due necessity. Also do not engage in any Dhikr whilst in the toilet
(Mishkaat, Abu daawood; pg 3)

9) Be extremely careful and ensure that droplets of urine and stool do not splash upon one, as most of the punishment in the grave is due to not protecting oneself from urine splashes
(Bukhaari, Ibn Maajah)

10) Do not touch the private parts with the right hand during Istinjaa. Use the left hand for this purpose.
(Bukhaari, Abu Daawood)

11) Sit and urinate. Do not urinate while standing
(Tirmidhi)
