Default Good goals to have on hajj
Assalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah!

Do the respected members have any suggestions inshaAllah?

So far, I have:
> Attempt a khatam of the Qur'an if Allah gives me the ability
> Hold fast to daily adhkar and the masnoon du'as (+general sunnas)
> Prayer with jamaa'ah + all the nawaafil
> Making tawaf once a day between the days of Umrah and hajj
> Spending as much time in the harams as possible (i.e. i'tikaaf)
> Once in Madinah, ziyarah once a day + plenty of salawaat
> Recite and revise the hifdh of the 40 hadith of Imam Nawawi once a day in the Rawdah (if possible). If not, in Masjid Nabawi
> Plenty of dua as per prepared list (includes dua for everyone)

Wassalaam!

Jazakumullah Khair

One of the most important thing is reciting the talbiyah excessively in an audible voice During the days of Hajj

Bi Ismihi Ta’ala

Wa-alaykumus Salaam waRahmatullahi waBarakaatuhu

1.) Another important aspect which our Mashaa`ikh emphasize on, is safeguarding the eyes, so much so that one respected Shaykh has mentioned that a person should protect his gaze from even falling onto the garments of those women who are in the Tawaaf.

Special Guidelines for those performing Hajj and Umrah
by Hazrat Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Saheb (Daamat Barakaatuhum)

2.) A few inspirational articles by Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (Rahmatullahi 'Alayh):

a.) TAWAAF: The Wash Cycles for the Heart

b.) Reflections of Noor

c.) Durood Shareef

d.) The True wealth of Madina Munawwarah

My suggestions:

> Attempt a khatam of the Qur'an if Allah gives me the ability One in makkah and one in madeenah

> Making tawaf once a day between the days of Umrah and hajj Why only one tawaaf. Other ibaadah can be performed elsewhere but tawaaf is in mutaaf only. During peak season of haj I used to do tawaaf on the rooftop of masjid-e-haram, some 7 1/2 Kms. Enough time to do it between asar and maghrib. During this tawaaf period we can finish all our azkaar and at the end of the tawaaf drink stomach full of zam zam (preferably after maghrib) and you are fresh again. Drink the non-cold zam zam. "zam zam la mubrad"

And spend time in night, we can do good number of tawaafs.

> Spending as much time in the harams as possible (i.e. i'tikaaf) Spending time seeing the kabah is also ibaadath. Which we can't do elsewhere.

> Once in Madinah, ziyarah once a day + plenty of salawaat Try to sit in Riyadul Jannah. Sit on suffah platform and learn a few ayahs or a dua-e-masnoonah.

Remember this faqeer in your duas.

Regarding buying gifts to your nears and dears. Tell them. "I did tawaaf or an umrah for you, did dua for you quoting your name, presented salaam on behalf of you" etc. that is the best gift and your relatives will appreciate that.

Allahumma Khair.
