Default Starting soon
Alright ladies and gents.. I plan on starting the HCG diet on July 1. I just have a few questions.. Are a lot of people experiencing fatigue, nausea, and headaches?? I would normally never consider this diet because of the severe calorie restriction, but my doc recomended it to me. I am extremely cautious when it comes to stuff like this. 500 calories can not possibly been enough to support normal brain function.. IM SO NERVOUS.. im one of those people who doesnt take medicine unless im dying because i dont want it to mess me up somehow! I guess im kind of rambling now.. I just need assurance that this stuff isnt going to kill me. I look forward to getting to know you all more and starting my weight loss journey.

No, it is not going to kill you. Honestly 500cal is NO big deal if your dose is right... you just won't be hungry. If you are hungry, your dose is off, more often than not too high.

Headaches and other symptoms *can* happen in the first few days. That doesn't actually have anything to do with the HCG or the restricted calories - your body might be detoxing from carbs and sugar. And those withdrawals can be nasty. If you tried the same without the hcg and with regular calories (but no sugar or carbs), you would feel just as miserable...

Make sure you have either real rx hcg or real homeopathic hcg (label should say 6x 12x, etc), and then it won't kill you.

I experience different side effects each round. I usually get a rash just under my chin for a couple days when I start. It goes away. I had a bad headache at the beginning of one round, but not the other 3. I got nauseous while loading the first 3 rounds, but not the 4th. I do struggle with low blood sugar and weakness. Potassium and sea salt take care of the weakness. The weakness isn't from low calories; it is from low/unbalanced electrolytes. My brain function seems to be fine on the protocol, and my vision improves for some strange reason. You're really not consuming 500 calories. You're consuming 500 calories plus another 2000 or so calories from your fat that the hcg makes available to your body.

Best wishes to you.

Brandi, why start right before the holiday? You may be tempted by BBQ & fixins --
