So I'm beginning to think that I'm simply dumb and I can't tell the difference between a craving and hunger.
I've been struggling with my injection dose because I still feel hungry. When I'm not in front of food I crave it, when I smell food I want it, when food is in front of me I EAT IT! So I'm beginning to wonder...Do I just have a really really really bad case of no self control? Or am I really that hungry? Mornings are easy. Id prefer to eat a bagel or eggs but I can get by without it just fine. Lunch is okay. I seem satisfied with my chicken breast and lettuce. But dinner doesn't jive the same. I don't seem to get full like mornings and afternoons. I noticed this yesterday at a Superbowl party and I caved!!!!! I had chilli, cake, cheese! Felt sick after so then I thought, Geez! That probably wasn't hunger and it was just cravings. Must be why I feel so sick and almost overfull/stuffed! Does anyone have any tips on how I can control my cravings disgusted and hunger? Does anyone think that perhaps it could really be hunger and I really should be adjusting my dose? I really hope the blame isn't all mine ![]() |

What day are you on VLC? I notice that I want to taste food, but necessarily eat it. Honestly, the biggest thing I do to control the desire to taste it, is to imagine the next morning scale figures. When the screen on my scales turns blue and those zeros start flashing, I LOVE to see it end up at a lower number than the previous day. I mean, I am truly scale obsessed now; I will jump on it during the day or even in the middle of the night when I get up to pee; it has become my new best friend, and I don't want it to be my enemy again.
And I am the wrong one to ask, because I am so new to this, but what is your dosage, what round are you on, and what is your start weight and goal? (I know that someone who knows better than I do is going to ask, so you might as well give them the info now.) |

I seem to be having the same problem. This is my first time doing the HCG diet and today is my 7th day of VLCD. For the past 3 days, I've found myself feeling hungrier and hungrier. Sometimes I know that it's just a craving (like when my kids are snacking and their treats look good) but other times, like dinner tonight, I feel completely unsatisfied by my meal. I'm doing 150 iu's of sublingual RX 2x a day. This weekend I had trouble taking my doses exactly 12 hours apart (I ended up an hour or two late twice). Could that be my issue?

I was on 200 a day. Injections I got from my natropath.
I was told that its too high and I need to lower. Tomorrow I'm going to skip. Althought, I DON'T KNOW how I can skip if I'm 'hungry' now?... My start was 179 lost 34lbs with Ideal Protein then gained some back. Thank my HCG round 1 start was 159 and I lost 13lbs in TWO ROUNDS! NOTHING!!! This round my start was 147 (gained a couple back, mostly on the load days). I'm 143 now. My Ultimate goal is 125 But being that I'm always so disapointed that I don't make my goal, I'm thinking of making 135 my goal, then considering my last round once I feel what thats like. I'm not familiar. What's VLC? So tomorrow on my skip day, if I'm hungry, what do I do?... |

You'll feel great on your skip day. That will convince you. LOL The hunger will be gone by evening. That's a very high dose. Take it to 150 after your skip day. VLC is Very Low Calorie. If you did this high of a dose with your first two rounds and were hungry, that can affect losses. Also I suspect you might have some insulin resistance with losses so poor. So try cutting 1 fruit and replacing it with 100 calories of allowed protein, basically 1 extra serving of 3.5 oz of protein. I think you'll lose better.

I feel like such a failure. This am the scale said a pound gained!!!!
I'm on my skip day today. And tomorrow I will go back to 150. Thanks so much for the help! And yes, I'll cut the fruit! When I did Ideal Protein it was No fruit and I lost more consistently but slower than the ideal HCG kind of loss. So I was thinking about that same thought this AM that perhaps I shouldn't have the fruit and instead have more protein! |

Perhaps its water...
Today I skipped and I actually increased my water intake. So hopefully that helps some. I spent most of the day not hungry. Not until 7:30 did I get really hungry even though I ate a late afternoon snack. I haven't had shrimp in a long time so thats not it. I'll go on 150 tomorrow. I hope that helps! |

I might have spoken too soon. Around 2 I was soooo hungry. Even though I already had lunch at 11:30 I came home had a chicken breast with spinach and I was still hungry. I suffered through it and the hungry subsided. Then I got REAL hungry at 10ish!!! But I had already maxed out my 500 calories with the early dinner...
This diet freaking SUCKS! |

My clinic told me to start at 200 iu, and Grammy told me that was way too high for a first dose. She suggested starting at 150 and going down if necessary. I tried 150 for 2 days and then dropped to 130 (my HCG mixes to 5ML, so my doses are very small and harder to calibrate, and I am positive that I fluctuate from 120 - 130). I like it much better in the 130 range. 125 seems to be the dosage I read about most here, so you may want to lower that again.
Stick with it - I went to 2 grocery stores last night with my son (who NEEDS to gain weight), and we went in every aisle that typically would have had me throwing impulse buys in my cart. No desire at all. I think "Boy some of that cheese would taste good with those crackers" but I didn't want to actually eat it. And I am just not hungry, unless you count around 2 in the afternoon and around 7 in the evening. And after 10 I get bored hand-to-mouth syndrome, but I make sure I have enough calories for a baked apple if I want one (and I cut it in 24-36 little dices, and I eat each dice one at the time, so it lasts at least 10 minutes). So far, this has been a great diet for me, and has forced me to really look at my food labels, etc. Chins up!! ![]() |
