Hi Stacey

Well this is an awesome way of eating and you can lose 40lbs easily if you are willing to be dilligent about what you stick in your mouth. First you should get the Atkins book or read up on the "Induction" segment of this site. Fitness is always a good thing but in saying that, I've lost about 47lbs without doing any.
The basic jist is No sugar, glucose, fructose, sorbitol, manitol, corn syrup or any other form of sugar. No starch...so no potatoes, no flours, breads, pastas, rice, etc.
Check out the list of foods on induction. Keep your carbs under 20 a day to start. Wrap your head around the fact that fat is a good thing and that you can eat whip cream, bacon, mayo and butter and still lose weight! It's awesome!!

Good luck and keep us posted

IF you don't have a book to follow, any one of the Atkins books would be good to get and follow, or do reseach on Low Carb ways of eating on line and decide which way is what you need.

Like Allie said, No grains, no fruit no white vegetables for the start and add fat! Butter, olive oil and coconut oil where you can.

EGGS are wonderful things now.

Welcome....
