Default Is there something for INSTANT relief for a bad yeast infection?! 4th night w/o sleep
The past 4 days or so I have had horrible itching, pain etc. It started a week ago but truly....it did not even dawn on me until tonight that I have a yeast infection...so it has been growing.

Have not had one in over 20 years which is why I did not think of it! I mowed our lawn a week ago and it was very hot out...thought I sweated and caused a rash/blisters etc.

Now I realize it is candida! By now I am a wreck and can not get to the store until morning, probably for Monistat, but is there anything I can do to get to sleep tonight?

I keep reading that honey can relieve the symptoms very quickly but want to know if that is true.

I can barely walk now and I am shaking all over.

Can't believe I did not realize what it was until tonight! It just sort of hit me.

Thanks,
Sherri

I always use Tea Tree Oil. Stings mildly for a second but works great. I hope you feel better.

Apple cider vinegar or yogurt helps too.

Dipping a tampon in plain (no flavor) yogurt helps! Becareful with monistat, I used it about 2 weeks ago and woke up in the middle of the night with horrible burning and itching. It's not uncommon to have a bad reaction

I am so sorry you had such a bad reaction! Ouch.

I have used it before (over 20 years ago!) without problems so hopefully it will help again.

After I posted here last night I found sites that recommended ACV! I used it and wow! It of course stung, burned at first but gads...brought relief I desperately needed.........just needed to use it every hour or every couple of hours but I was finally able to lay down and BREATHE!

Thank you,

Hi,

Boy, I wish I had access to a health store etc. last night when I posted this LOL...I think I will get some to have on hand though! I can not bring myself to eat my fruit today and can barely walk but grateful that I FINALLY realized what was happening!

Hard to believe I did not *get it* a week ago. No wonder it got so bad........it obviously started 3 weeks ago. Thank you, I feel so much better today after ACV last night and generic Monistat today, but I can tell it will be a long recovery *sigh*.

I always keep a dose of the generic one dose does the trick monasat around just in case. Are you taking a good probiotic? You should be to help keep the good flora up and the bad flora down. Glad your feeling better! .

Yes, probiotics are so necessary!

I will never know why this happened now but I am happy to be on the mend LOL When I think hard, it has to be more than 20 years...closer to 30 actually since I had one, but still, it amazes me I did not recognize what it is for so many weeks! Might explain this cough I can get rid of as well

Oh, one thing...can having a raging infection slow down weight loss or cause a gain? I have gained .8 in the past 2 or 3 days but to be honest, with this particular problem I have not been eating or drinking as much as before at all..just do not feel well you know? But the gain is a bummer.

I am not going to fret over it, and once the infection is clear I expect to pick back up with the losses.

Thank you!

Sherri, in the natural health sphere, it is often said that there is a relation between detoxing and candida. People with high heavy metal levels in their system (just a mercury filling will be enough or if you ate more tuna lately) can have higher candida levels. Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt who is a world mercury detox expert, says that candida yeast serves the purpose of absorbing and sequestering heavy metals - that yeast overgrowth is one of the body's defenses to try and keep mercury and other heavy metals from damaging body tissues.

Colds and coughs are also a way that the body detoxes periodically.

Maybe a thought. There are things you can do to help your body, such as eating foods that help detoxing like cilantro. There is a lot of info online. People with mercury fillings are better off having them taken out though for long term health. Mercury is so so toxic, it is unreal that it is used in people's mouths.

Hi,
I know...it is unbelievable that mercury is so prevalent No one in our family has metal fillings. Those who need them have porcelan.

The most difficult to deal with is fish. I love fish and other seafood (was thrilled to see so much of the fish I love on the list, as well as crab and shrimp) but rarely eat tuna partly b/c it is hard to enjoy it when you know how high the mercury levels are .

I may have fed this with more fruit than usual a month or two and maybe I will see when I am back in shape and have a lot of green smoothies again which include a fruit...time will tell.

Yes, I need to do a little detoxing somehow while on this. Right now I likely will not lose any lbs for a few days as I am staying laying down most of the day until this is cleared up. I am treating it and feel awful as well...it is just everywhere and is a raging one, but clearing up slowly I will be back on track and able to eat enough in a few days, have not had an appetite with this the last few days LOL

Thank you!
Sherri

Yep! Being sick with any type of infection will definately slow your weight loss or cause a gain. Hang in there! ((hugs))

Thanks ILuvKats!
Yep, I was down exactly 1.4 lbs this morning...so I am down exactly .4 from where I was before the major breakout Still itchy and hurting, but hey, as long as the losses are beginning again I will get through it LOL

Thank you...it is good to know that being sick can put on weight especially considering I am having trouble eating anything right now. Thought my system was shutting down from lack of food. Still am not hungry and can't eat much, but I will get my water in today at least!

Thanks again very much!
