I read an interesting article at MSN Health and it contains list of foods that can help fight diseases like cancer, heart disease and helps reduce cholesterol levels. Here's 5 of the 12 fruits on the list and their health benefits:
1. Kiwi - This fruit helps protect against stroke, heart disease, cancer, and respiratory disease. It also helps reducing the formation of blood clots, lower LDL cholesterol, and reduce blood pressure. Studies showed that kiwifruit reduces oxidative stress, damage to DNA and help repair damaged cells. 2. Cherries - This fruit help fight inflammation and cancer. Studies showed that compounds in cherries inhibits the growth of tumors and helps kill cancer cells. Cherries also lowers uric acid levels and reduce common cause of gout, reduce risk of colon cancer, reduce inflammation, helps curb pain, help lower risk of stroke and heart attack. 3. Guavas - This fruit contain more cancer-fighting antioxidant lycopene than tomatoes or any other fruit or vegetable. I agree. Generally vegetables is really good for our health. Specifically green, leafy veggies, legumes, soy foods and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage and brussels sprouts. It was also proven that these foods guard against cancer development and increase your body’s detoxification enzymes.
