I took up running almost 2 years ago. I'm not a marathoner by any means but I can do 3 miles comfortably and 5 miles on a good day.
I had started Atkins last week and have been pleased with the results but I can't seem to run at all anymore. After 1 to 1.5 miles, I get extremely tired and my chest, shoulders, and stomach all start to ache. I haven't had these types of aches before while running. The last time I tried running, I almost threw up (probably would have if I had anything on my stomach). I'm actually dreading trying to run again. So is this typical in the Induction Phase? If I stay between 20g and 30g of carbs after Induction, will I get back my endurance energy? If so, how long until I'm back to 100%? Or do I just have to eat more carbs to get it back? I don't mind cutting back on running for a week or two but it's become an important part of my excercise routine and I don't want to give it up. Any advice? |
