Saturday

Rest.

Tomorrow, I am attempting 12 miles. This is longer than I've ever run. (my longest run has been 10 miles). I'm sore, but if I want to run this marathon, I need to do this. If I can't, then I won't be able to catch up. Unfortunately, there's not another local marathon until Fall.

I guess it will be a deciding run.

Tuesday

3 miles
35:37 (11:52/mile)

No distance or speed records here, but just a nice easy run. Leg isn't feeling too bad. I'm planning on trying 7 tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be ok.

Sounds like you're doing great juggling child and exercise. Listen to your body and make sure you give it enough rest time.

Wednesday

Well, I was up most of the night getting puked on by a 2-year old. Needless to say, I didn't get my run in this morning. I'll see if I can get on the dreadmill during the day. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

Afternoon

I managed to get 7 miles in on the dreadmill. I did .25 miles walk, .75 miles run.

Friday

4-mile run. Lot's of pain. I'm sitting with an icebag at the moment http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

You're awesome! How was your energy? Did you eat anything special to keep you from getting "run down"?

eCw56dzY 06-22-2006 07:00 AM

I had 2 cups of coffee, an energy bar and a cupcake (for good measure http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif )

I actually felt great. I planned to stop home after 6 for some water, but kept making turns. I didn't reach my house until 11.5 miles, where I had a drink. It was about 40 degrees, and I wasn't sweating much.

I ran pretty slow (11 min-mile), but it was a consistant pace throughout the run.

I have a Timex GPS watch, which is fantastic. I didn't have any idea what my route would be beforehand, so I was free to try new streets.
