They have some kids exercise videos that you do together, but you'd have to look them up.

Does she ride a bike? My daughter (also 6 ) loves to go for bike rides, but it doesn't actually "challenge" me. Maybe, you can jog while she rides?

My daughter also loves to dance. She likes to do videos with me, altho her attention doesn't last too long with it. I'm sure she would love to just dance with you. It's still great cardio.

You could also get one of those trailers for a bicycle, since she's probably too big for the seat on the back of the bike. My daughter fits in it, but it terrifies her. The baby loves it, tho.

Otherwise, can you work out before she gets up? This is the only time I can exercise.

I know my fiance's 8 yr old adored the belly dance tapes I had. There are several targetted for specific areas and one for a cardio work out. My guess is that she would love anything dance related as that seemed to be the 8 yr old's preference.

Default cardio with small child
Does anyone have ideas for cardio with a small child (6yo) around?
Maybe a 20 min. dance tape? Except when I'm at work dd is with me
(school's out at 3pm m-th and 12:30 on Fri) and dh works late. I have tried walks but her pace is slower than a snail she's big to push in a stroller. She likes dancing. I do not want to plop her in front of the tunes
(can't leave her and run and the tunes occupy our TV so I can't use a tape). I could just put on music and jump around together. It wouldn't be organized but maybe OK?

I think I'll try to find an adult dance video that she'd enjoy. I can't see myself getting up earlier. I only get 6-6.5 hours of sllep a night as it is and I'm exhausted.

PS If anyone has specific suggestions post them. Some of the videos I've seen have annoying hosts. I will check the library I do not remember if ours carries exercise videos.

If you look at videofitness.com, they have descriptions of most videos. You can look by instructor.

Kathy Smith is very good, but can be annoying. A lot of people like Tae Bo - they even have a Tae Bo Jr.

I've seen some videos advertised that are supposedly by the INSYNC type choreographer. They look fun, and I know my daughter likes that stuff. I think it's Darrin's Dance Grooves.
