This is really cool. It has me between 25 & 26, which is higher than my bf scale http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif. It's probably more consistant, tho. I can't wait to try it again in a few weeks.

PH, I have thin wrists, too - but I think that works against me. I'm guessing that this is the measurement that's telling it how small my bones are (indicating the other measurements are all fat LOL ).

Ok, question about this, as I think I may be doing it wrong. I got to reading the instructions for each measurement again,,, and when we measure our "hips" it says to measure at the top of our hip bones, to get the measurement....and that's what I did on this... BUT I've always measured across the broad part of my rear end,, as I had always thought that is how a FEMALE did it... Now,,, if for a female, we are supposed to measure across the rear instead of at our hip bones, then my ratios would be far different.. as my hip bones are very narrow,,, but I DO DEFINITELY have a rear end that follows me around like a lost dog.. lol

What I mean is,, my hip bones are about the same as my tummy,, (not waist)... but that's not my behind... so, is the "place of measurement" different for women, than it is for men?

I questioned this too. The measurement at my hip bones is not the widest part. When I redid my measurement, I lowered it. In the diagram, it looks like they are measuring at the point where the leg attaches to the hip.

I'll have to try this out some time this weekend.

Beedcardabeme 05-03-2006 07:00 AM

ok this site 30.94%, my scale 31%

So I guess my scale is doing alright.

edit : according to this LMI is at 199, so 15% would be 230 ish. (assuming no muscle added) which would need a 95lb total loss. Whats so odd is I actually feel that I have a chance of getting there. I would have never said that 4 months ago.

Well, it my body fat registered at 38.1 and the Waist to Hip ratio at 77% which means that at a size 10 I only .03 from being considered obese.

enfoires 06-09-2006 07:00 AM

Well, according to that site, my Body Fat Percentage (BF) is 21.12 %. A whole lot better than what BMI calculators have me at. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...icon_smile.gif

Golotop 06-18-2006 07:00 AM

I was tempted to do that too. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

That's so funny, I can remember that happening. Before a couple of years ago, I never even tried a 6. The same thing happened, and I bought 2 dresses "just because" http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...icon_smile.gif

Flirigor 07-20-2006 07:00 AM

hehe hadn't thought of it like that!!

Ahh well knew I was fat anyhow.. but not for long  .

This time next year.... 8)

bestworkothlo 08-11-2006 07:00 AM

Patty, thanks! Hey, that makes me feel better.

Guess what! I found 2 blouses on the sale rack at Profitts today and they were an 8 and a 6. Couldn't find them in anything larger so thought. I know these won't fit but I'll try them on anyway. I was so excited when the 8 fit. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_biggrin.gif And I nearly burst with pleasure when the 6 fit. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif I bought the 6! http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...icon_smile.gif

itsmycock 08-14-2006 07:00 AM

Good stuff!

I won't tell you mine.. not for a good few months anyhow!! http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_biggrin.gif

According to my stats.. my wrists are thin  so at least thats a starting point!

BJ, I don't think that means you'll be obese or even overweight. It just means that your a pear vs an apple, with puts you as a lower risk for heart disease. Even if you gained 50 pounds, your ratio will probably not change much.

By the way, I'm 76% and size 6 - not exactly 4% from obese http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

serius_06 09-05-2006 07:00 AM

I'm not sure how that works.. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...n_confused.gif

My hips and thighs are cosiderably small, but my waist has been gaining size since I've been adding muscle. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...n_rolleyes.gif So, now my ratio is at 80% even though a month ago it was at 72%. (I"ve put on 3 inches http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_redface.gif )

The only reason I'm not jumping up and down in hysterics though, is because my tummy and waist are within .25 of being the same, which means I'm losing my belly.. but at what expense? Plus, being right in the middle of my specified weight range,, I don't know how much more weight I could actually lose without also losing muscle..

I guess I'm just trying to focus on body shaping and muscle toning right now, rather than anything.. So, I'm not sure how to take this information. http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Lolita Palmer 09-15-2006 07:00 AM

I've updated my stats adn have lost some inches (neck, wrist, thigh, chest) and am down 3% even though I only lost 2lb!

Wow!

Joeblow... I know what u mean, about the losses being possible. This woe just shows u that it can be done, just takes patience and time.

Here's to a continued low carb 2004!
