Wow, these are pretty ambitious numbers! I really like the Tour De France idea (go Lance!). 4793 is a lot of miles, I'd like to break it up. Of course, we'd need to find a destination somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean!

I also think 2300 miles is a lot for one month. Perhaps we can start that challenge in June, and finish with the the pack. So, June/July could be our Tour de France Challenge. We have the rest of Feb, Mar, Apr, May to go the other 4793. I'd like to split that up into 2 parts.

Hmm scratch

I thought of one for July, The Tour de France is that month running for 3 weeks, and 2300miles I think, we should do that tour!!

Patty: stopping in Nova Scotia or NFLD mid-way to Europe would put us somewhere in March.

March 8-Commonwealth Day
March 17-St Patrick's Day
March 21- First Day of Spring
April 1- April Fools Day

Just in case we are running late
April 4- Daylight Savings Time Begins
April 22- Earth Day

Next Challenge ?

With only 120 miles left until Mardi Gras, we need to think about the next challenge. Any suggestions for our next destination? What's a good place to visit in March?

konanoileaski 01-20-2006 07:00 AM

You should come and visit us canadians ... the snow might slow you down a bit though

tearidrusydet 03-31-2006 07:00 AM

Tempy, I was actually thinking of Nova Scotia (great minds think alike http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif ) Do any of you Canadians know of any events/holidays coming up there? I guess it doesn't matter first. We'll just stop there enroute, then restart the counter for the second leg.

JoeBlow, I'll follow you anywhere http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif But Vegas is the wrong direction if we're going to Paris this summer! Besides, I promised an international challenge this time around.

Frog, I'm really glad this caught on, too.

Anyway, I'm really liking this trip http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_biggrin.gif

Well May 24 is Vicotira Day or otherwise known as Canada day! Lots of beer, fireworks, parties...everyone goes camping and gets nuts in the woods...FUN!!!

COme celebrate Canada day with us!!!

We don't have Victoria Day, but Memorial Day is the following weekend. It doesn't really matter if it's a holiday that everyone celebrates, as long as there's a party going on at the destination http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

if you pick someplace like nova scotia or newfoundland you dont have to break it up into the middle of the atlantic ocean...but that will make it longer

Do you guys celebrate May 24 weekend, Victoria Day, I doubt it, but maybe!! http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif It's a big holiday weekend here.

What about Easter, Good Friday or Palm Sunday, we could make it to Jeruselum by April???

Or a party for my daughter's 7th birthday on April 12. You guys could make it to Cambridge from end of Feb to April.

Or end of winter challenge!!! We could meet spring with a bang!

PattyC and others for what it's worth thanks for organizing these challenges. I am way too lazy to come up with them but it sure is fun to log the miles.
