As most of you know, I take exercise classes at school, along with my schedule of academics. Well, this is my graduation semester and I was able to get all of the classes that I needed for graduation, with only minor changes and tweaks to my schedule. Originally I hadn't thought that I would be able to squeeze in any activities, but after it was so easy to get the classes that I needed, I realized that I had plenty of time left in the day and exercise AFTER my classes *as opposed to first thing in the morning before classes* has really helped to relieve the stress and tension prior to coming home and dealing with the family and "our" issues. (don't get me wrong, we have very few issues, but when you add academic stress to the mix, well... uumm.. it can be very tedious)
So, this *current* semester I took racketball and swimming.. which I have really made a ton of progress in, and love both of the classes,, that I routinely come home from them, and grab which ever equipment I need and head to the gym to keep doing it for a while.. I have become very good at racketball,, and it's almost as much stress relief as kickboxing and shotokan.. but this semester I went for something a little different.. So, on Monday and Wednesday.. I've got: Yoga and on Tuesday and Thursday.. I've got: Pilates I figure that these two, combined will help to elongate all the muscle that I've accumulated over the years, and keep me on a continuous schedule, that I can't seem to maintain with them at home.. always favoring the more rigorous workouts like sports, weight training, walking, bike riding and swimming... |

I read this post and I suddenly felt very old; and creaky; and tired. Is there no end to her energy? Her stamina? Will I ever feel that I am more than just a tired, old turtle eating the dust that falls on me as she goes by? I guess I should just be happy that she doesn't stop to beat me up. I think that Evrrdy is what Dr. Atkins really meant when he told us to exercise. I have to go lie down now.

Good to see you again Teuthis.
Have a safe trip home and I look forward to hearing about your extended trip on Sunday (OK, I will wait until Monday so you can unpack.....that's Monday morning!!) Yes, I too felt old reading Evrrydy's posts -- all of them, even the one about her husband's return home and their trip to Hawaii! ugh. |
