I'm game!

If I felt a responsibility to record my exercize, as well as a forum to do it in, I would be more motivated to record it.

Good idea!

I ran my regular route of 4.2 miles this morning. Hubby is taking a trip, so I won't get to run outside again until Friday.

Well, I started working out the day I started the diet again. I'm going to the gym M-W-F and then either Sat or Sun. 40 minutes cardiovascular and 30 minutes each, upper and lower body. Since I'm not really dating or anything and had been kinda bored in the evenings lately, it's really been filling in some time. Also meeting people at the gym has been nice - just getting out to a place that HAS people is a lifestyle change!

So far I've lost about 90-95 pounds of fat and gained about 22 pounds of muscle. I still have a lot of weight to lose but I'm getting thinner all the time. I've almost reached a point where I think I can add more exercise variation. I have severe past injuries that limit my intensity, but I'm really hoping to add more elements.

Good Luck!

I took today off (to watch the kiddie's parades at school) so I had a little extra time.

I ran 3-miles, then walked 1 more. It was a beautiful day out - I didn't even need a jacket.
I did the upper body portion of The Firm BodySculpt.

I ran 6.6 miles this morning and felt great. I hope this gets me back in the swing

It was 26 degrees out, but lighter than it's been. I didn't want to stop.

Default Workouts - weekly checkins ??
On other forums, I've found that check-ins are very motivational. We'd simply log our exercise for that day/week etc. It's not a competition or anything like that. We'd just create a new thread each week. Just write what you did that day:

walk at lunch
weights at gym
yoga class
video at home
etc.

Is anyone game? I like to see what everyone is doing.

Today, I ran 4.2 miles. It was really, really windy. I had this strong headwind for about 1.5 miles that actually stopped me dead in my tracks at one point. I had to walk for about .5 mile just to get thru it. I was beat.

You don't need to lose weight! You look terrific. You must just be here to make me feel bad! haha. You and UNC Horse!

I think your idea is great. Right now I'm in a static mode of walking about 4-4.5 miles daily, five days a week. The only variation is that I've cut my time for it down and I'm planning to add that additional half mile later this month.

I might start swimming again soon, if I can join the YMCA here. I would like to resume some light weight toning too. Not sure I can yet.

Good Luck!

I didn't run today - sick baby kept me up last night. But, yesterday, I did 2 miles on the treadmill (run/walk), plus a 1/2 hour of strength training with free weights.

Well, I've been working out every other day since starting the diet on 11/3/03. Been pretty good about sticking to it with a few exceptions. I fast-walk do a 30 minute upper and 30 minute lower body weight training regimen and then do cardiovascular for about 40 minutes. I can really tell my muscle tone is improving. I'm planning on cycling on a bike trail that runs past my house on my off days - I used to do a 10 miler and actually hope to get up to about 14 which is the length of the entire trail!

Wow! Good for you That's quite an achievement.

I've been incredibly burnt out this week, and have not ran or worked out once! I am SOOO tired! I have bags under my eyes. I've been going to bed on time, but I just haven't really had a good break. Plus, my little one has been cranky at night. I think she's getting sick. She has asthma, so when she gets a cold, it escalates.

Thanks, Teuthis I'm not sure how much weight you are working to lose, but we are all doing the same diet I'm really struggling more to lower my bodyfat percentage. As I'm getting older, it's become more of an issue.

Walking is so good for you. I think a lot of people don't realize that, to be effective, you really need to get your mileage up (as you have). How much weight have you lost?
