In the beginning you may be cold, but once you are moving your body will adjust to the temperature and you should be OK.

Thanks for the advice guys, I guess I'm just whining http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_biggrin.gif I'm going to brave this miserable weather and hopefully spring will find me a healthier skinner person!

I hate the cold. I work out in the early morning, and managed to go outside and run all last winter. It's best in the morning because it's before you really know how cold it is. If I had to come home at the end of a cold day and go out there, I'd never do it.
It also seems like, in the early morning, I tend to miss the rains and wind. It's strange. After 15 months, I've only been caught in the rain a handful of times. You do need to pick a regular time to exercise. After a few weeks, it will become routine. Good luck! |
Once you force yourself to get into an exercise routine the weather won't matter to you. You will want to get out there in any weather. It's just a matter of reaching that level. Get going and you'll see!
Good Luck! http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...icon_smile.gif |
The trick is to be wearing enough clothes so the shock of the cold air isn't noticed when you first go outside. For running in the cold (and the wet come to that) I wear a cyclists base layer (skin tight, warm and wicks moisture away from the skin - just looks really gross on my large and flabby frame) covered by a cheap sweat shirt. If the base layer is good quality then you'll stay warm and fairly dry.
For the legs I've got no real advice because mine tend not to feel the cold so its usually shorts. The final really important thing is to make sure your footwear is warm and dry when you put it on - nothing saps the will like a pair of wet trainers. |
I had the same thing happen here today.Just wear gloves and keep your head and ears warm and the excercise will warm the rest of you up.Good Luck! http://www.lowcarbsite.com/images/sm...on_biggrin.gif

Its just to COLD!!
I plan on starting my new workout routine tomorrow. The only time I can fit it into my schedule is about 6am. I don't have any problem waking up but its sooo cold in the morning (we're actually expecting sleet today... yuck!) that I just want to turn off my alarm snuggle under my heavy blankets.
Did anyone else have this problem? and how did you beat it? |
