People seem to want to take research to extreme limits and leave common sense behind. Exercise burns calories. The more you do,the more calories you burn. There does seem to be some benefit to longer exercise sessions. But most of us don't do enough exercise to see that difference.

I always wondered about those treadmills and other machines at the gym that said I should be doing so much less of my target heart rate to reach maximum fat burning. I would have to walk.. and walk slowly to get it to be that LOW!

Anyways.. I think even if it were true.. it wouldn't be for low carb dieters.. since we don't have many carb's to burn in the first place, we'd be shifting to burning fat almost immediately.

Thank you for the article! I'm currently doing the couch potato to 5k that PattiC told us about. Now I have to stay even more motivated to increase my heart rate!
