I was a certified lifeguard a few years back. Part of the reason I got the certification was because I loved swimming so much. I suck at team sports and shit but am a pretty good swimmer, at least I was. I haven't been the pool in a loooong time.

I cannot believe how cheap pool membership is
All our pools are city run snd an annual pass for unlimited swims is only $280

After 25 years of running, one operation put an end of running for myself.

I love swimming Porter, especially backfloating. My stepson is a lifeguard so you know he is good. Joe, on the other hand really is not a very good swimmer. I guess he didn't swim much in Ireland. Having seen the River Liffey, I don't blame him

I feel at home in water
There is something soothing snd comforting, i have no memory of ever feeling nervous or scared in water
It seems a natural environment to be in

I love backstroking. You should not definitely do breast stroke for it is very bad for your knees!

I have always run and biked, but the years of pounding have taken a toll on my knees, probably need surgery on one of them....
My doc suggests i take up swimming as as an alternative, anyone else swim regularly, i went to the pool today first time in years, i think i need lessons
Im a certified instructor

Oh yah, and try to find a pool that " ozonates " their water.. You won't smell like Chlorine as much and your skin and eye will love you a lot more.. That's what our community pool does..
