Default Signed up for Planet Fitness Again
Well, my mom signed me up, shes footing the membership. Her and her bf want to go to the gym and they signed me up too. Not sure how I feel about going to the gym with family and I already expressed this to my mom in which she said I was being an asshole pretty much but I know how her bf is working out. I told her if I get bored during the day I'm not waiting til they get out of work and I'm just hoofing it the 2 miles.

Your mom was right. Just be grateful she's footing the bill, IJS. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Surely having membership paid for by them doesn't mean you can't go without them?

His previous complaint was that it cost him more to get to the gym than it did for the membership.

I'm not.. I just don't want to be told WHEN I can go... I only stopped going because the cabfare was getting nuts, but it's summer and I can walk the 2 miles there and back if I desire.

I guess you're leaving out a part of the story. Have you been told you all have to go together???

Two miles?!

Dude, get a bike. You can cycle there, go swimming or something and cycle back.

It sounds funny, but I totally get this. I have a co-worker that tries to be a personal trainer if you go to the gym w/ her. Not that I'm saying that's what Dana means...but I get how you can "not like" how someone else works out.

It was implied simply because of the cab costs but I know how they are and the chances of them sticking with this longer than me is pretty slim. Thats my only issue, I'm grateful she paid for my membership but do NOT treat me like a child then expect me not to get pissy. They have it in there head that because I'm in the situation I'm in that they can coddle me whether they consciously think so or not and frankly its irritating but I know it's done with the best intentions.

I have a bicycle... I'm not much for bicycling in this area, too hilly and the streets suck. I'm likely to get my ass ran over. I was going to sign up for the Boys & Girls Club but had not gotten around to it then there was talk about the gym and I was going to sign up myself again.

Going to the gym with your family isn't that bad, I've done it before. Just do your own thing and meet up at a set time.

+ 1. Two miles ech wy is easy. I rode my bike in a single ride 102 miles in a fund raiser a week or so ago. My minimum ride typically is 30 miles. I go every morning to kick boxing with my daughter and son. We have a blast. Just get out and do it. You will thank yourself later
