Good luck with this. I rarely smoked but understand the difficulty.

If I remember right the weight gain is a result of the metabolism re adjusting for the first 3-6 weeks. After that it gets back to where it started. So what you have to do is either eat 15% less or burn 15% more calories by walking or whatever exercise for a while if you want to not gain weight.

But you probably already knew that

i went through that phase as well, but i forewarned people that i might be an asshole. i also gained about 10 pounds maybe since i quit smoking but i'm happier now and i'm not wheezing as much on cold days

yeah well Im trying to diet and quit both, that makes a double whammy for me lol but hey it will pass I think..... so people will just have to deal if they want me to stop

Good luck on quitting, it ain't ever easy, that's for damn sure. I did it since I was 12 and been smoke free for two years I think.
