Tanning beds

Not sure where to put this..

Im curious about something.. Ive got audra's wedding in a week and Ive been going to the tanning bed everyday.. well.. its more like I went last fri, mon, wed, thur.. and I am planning on going tomorrow, and every day up until the day.. I need to build my tan.. Thing is, Im not sure if this is gonna end up hurting my skin.. So Should i do every OTHER day instead of every day?

It all depends on the setting and power of the bed.

You can do everyday if they keep the intensity and time lower for you. Do they know you are coming everyday or do you just show up and go in without signing in?

They know.. She told me that I just need to watch my skin- if it reddens ALOT ..then to take a break.. if its just pink, then that is ok.. She also said I could take motron after I get in the tanning bed for my skin to not peel. But, I dunno if she is just blowing smoke up my ass or not..

I go in a super bed (not sure of the watts).. For 15 minutes. Thats the max time... I can tell you that my back is already red from the amount that Ive gone so far.. I dont want to be burnt OR PEEL at audra's wedding. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif

It's still bad for you in the long run

Then ask for a lower wattage bed... It takes a day or two for the redness to really kick in. It's MUCH better to be a little whiter and safe then red and peeling. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

if you went red just at 15...you shouldn't be doing it for that long... cut your time in half until you get a deeper tan....the darker the tan the more of that 15 you can do... I'm not a fan of tan beds... my sister on the other hand lives in them. Shes a nurse and knows the health issues of cancer and has had MANY moles cut off due to her over tanning... any sort of burn whether its pink or red is not good for your skin.

I'm a big fan of neutrogena self tanners with the built in bronzers so you can see where you are putting the product and it gives you an instant tan right away. Also, check out salons in your area that do the spray on tans as well...they are cheap enough and last a month, BUT test their tans as some places their tanners can make you look orange so just do a section you can hide.

I have heard alot of different reviews about tanning beds. Doing too much to where you are always getting burnt, is bad. I have also heard that it can be good for your skin, if you are not burning it.

Its funny that you posted this. I was going to post on here to see how many guys go to the tanning bed. I only go during the winter times. I hate being pasty lookin. Make fun all you want, but not only does it keep me tan during the winter, its very relaxing during those 12-15 minutes. The only thing i cannot stand is all of that lotion on my body. I hate that feeling! Then when you are done tanning, you have a puddle of sweat and lotion under your back.

I am not one of those dudes that looks orange either. The lotion I get only has mild tanning stuff in it. I told the girl at the desk i did not want to turn orange or look like a walking turd. I just want to keep my normal tan.

If you are burning alot, go every other day. Wait for the burn to go away. You could even try to go for less time. To keep burning your skin is not good. Its not helping you tan either. You could also try a different lotion. They should have samplers for you to try.

I got a 7X Bronzer when I went a week ago.. Its been working very well.. Maybe I should of said earlier, but i normally dont burn. It just takes alot for me to tan... My skin is the olive skin tone.. and for some reason after I had kids, my skin changed and now its harder for me to tan..

Compare..

Me young (with a tan and I kept this all the way up to high school)

funny how having kids does that us eh... mine got darker, so now I'm only white instead of pale. Either way you look lovely V, give those built in tanner moisturizers a go then?

Fhgzmftq 10-16-2008 08:01 PM

Those lotions always turn me orange looking because of how pale I was.. However, I do have a good base now.. so maybe it wont be bad. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif Ill have to try it out. thx

My wife(Traci) had the same thing happen to her. She does not tan as easy anymore. She says that her skin has become transparent. After Belle was born, she started to notice some veins on her chest that were never there before. She cannot hold a tan to save her life now.

What happened to your long beautiful black hair?

Not saying that you are not beautiful anymore. I am not a weirdo when it comes to hair, but i do have a thing for long dark haired ladies.
