Default Vitamins?
Hello Everyone!

I just want to start off by saying that this forum has helped me so much in the past week. Its good to know that Im not alone! Im 21 years old and I started the Induction phase a week ago and I have lost around 8 pounds so far!

I was wondering what type of vitamins are best to take. I have Women's One Daily, but Im not sure if that is good enough. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

Any daily type multi-vitamin is good. Just get one that doesn't have iron. The One-A-Day for women 50+ is what I take. With all of the protein we eat, I guess we shouldn't have extra iron. I know (from prenatal vitamins) that too much iron can quickly cause constipation... so I'm happy to avoid extra!

Thanks Tril!

The vitamins I have do have iron. I'd rather prefer not to have constipation, so I think I'll get some without it!

I agree with Tril, any multi-vitamin with minerals (but not iron) is good.

I take a One-A-Day for Women over 50 (I'm 52) and I also take the additional vitamins that Dr Atkins recommended in his book and vitamins recommended in a book called "You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending your Warranty".

I take selenium, biotin, Vitamin E, CitraCal, Zinc, Chromium, Magnesium, flaxseed oil, L-Carnitine, DHA, B-12, and Niacin.

However, some would say that taking all that is just producing very expensive urine!

Are all of those included in the One-A-Day pills, or do you take those separately?

Thanks!

I take the above vitamins, minerals and oils in addition to my multi-vitamin. Oh, and I just got some Echinacea-Goldenseal capsules because everyone around me is getting the flu and I want to build up my immune system. So far, so good.

I don't think everyone needs to take the same supplements I take. Dr. Atkins covered supplements very well in DANDR. I'm taking a lot of stuff because I'm over 50 and I want to live to be 100 at least, and be healthy when I'm old and gray.

I just spent over $10 on a multivitamin. I think it has iron, but I'm not going to waste them. I'm also taking an Omega 3 supplement as well as some psyllium(sp) husk.
Thats how I feel too. I dont want to waste them, but I dont want to take something that Im not supposed to...

Thanks everyone! And good luck Karen on living to be 100!!!

In the vitamins that I have, there is 18 mg of Iron. Is that too much? Should I get some different vitamins?
