Are you talking about the machines, or just anything in general?

Well, I just started a few mnths ago so im not a pro but i did have a trainer get me started.

Sop far I only use the machines, and even then only the stair thing, the elliptical machine and thr treadmill

When i started I couldnt do 2 minutes in any of them lol
right now Im spending between 30 - 45 minutes on each machine
and i get the best work out of the elliptical machine

Of course I use half resistance settings.

just my 2 pesos!

I think a lot of studies have concluded that the best workout as far cardio vascular improvement would be cycling and swimming - however, with something like running your also building strength because your body weight is much more of an issue.

I find its far better not to stick to one thing. Try all the usual suspects mentioned above, then maybe go to a spin class or do circuit training!

Remember for cardio fitness you need to hit ~80% of your maximum heart rate this gets the adrenaline pumping and doesn't use slow release energy or fats, its all about what you can do there and then.

Max heart rate = (220)-Age.

I ride my bike 3 times a week for an hour at a time. Usually I will give myself 15 mins to warm up followed by 15 of pushing hard as possible followed by the remaining half an hour spent trying to stay in my target heart rate zone... Running is great, but I love what is left of my knees so avoid it like death.... Unless someone is chasing me.

I get bored doing conditioning, so when I actually get off my ass, I go with basketball or kickboxing.
