Default Help with dosing please....
Hi guys! I am on day 3 of VLCD. I got my shots from a clinic and they gave 40 prefilled syringes, they are at the 25 mark. In another thread where I asked about the hunger it was recommended that I skip a dose and then lower the amount I am taking down to 15. Today is my skip day....how soon should I notice the difference? I am feeling okay now, just ate my melba toast and chicken and I feel empty but not hungry although before I ate I was pretty hungry. Usually the hunger gets really bad about 2:00 and I am pretty nervous about going through that again. If it is still bad does that mean the my dose isn't too low or will how I feel today not really be any indication on whether the dose is too high. I am so discouraged right now. I am losing great but I can't make it 40 days like this I paid a ton of money and don't want to waste it. Any input would be great!

I do think some hunger is normal the first few days, and I think day 3 is a little too soon to be skipping a dose. However, it very well may work for you. Do you take your injection in the morning? If so, then by tonight or tomorrow morning, you should be feeling better if your dose was too high. If you feel even hungrier tonight or tomorrow morning, then too high a dose wasn't your problem. If you are hungry, just make sure you're eating all the vegetables you are allowed and that you are drinking plenty of hot liquids like tea or hot water with lemon. Hot liquids help me a lot with hunger. I hope you feel better soon.

Okay, I'm editing this to change my advice. I just realized you were on a 250 iu dose. Yes, I definitely agree with the advice to skip and lower your dose. When I first read your post, I thought your dose was just a little too high, but that is insanely high and is, of course, causing hunger. You'll feel better tomorrow.

Thanks so much for the info. I made it to just right now before I started having low blood sugar symptoms so I think there is improvement. I am eating dinner and then I will see how I feel tonight. Thanks!

Tonight got pretty tough but not as bad as it has been. I realized though that I am in the week just before my period (I start in 2 days) I see now you are supposed to wait until after your period to start :/ Maybe that is why I am having such a hard time. Has anyone experience more hunger during the period or pms? Either way I will dose at 15 tomorrow and see how it goes.

How can you tell what her dose is from the information given?
Did she post it elsewhere? From the info given, without knowing how diluted her hCG is, knowing the syringe is filled to the 25cc mark doesn't tell you anything.
I mix my own, I dilute a 5000 iu vial of hCG with 10 ml of bacteriostatic water, and fill syringe to the 30ml mark, and that's a 150iu dose....At this dilution, to the 25cc mark would be 125iu dose.... without knowing the amount of water the clinic diluted with, there's no way to determine her dose strength.

OP, you need to ask the clinic and tell them you are hungry. Also,I agree with jmmrr, why a skip day so soon? That's another question to ask them, not that it makes a difference now I guess, it's done, but I wouldn't think by day 3, the hCG would even be fully built up and doing it's thing yet, let alone developing tolerance. No wonder you're hungry.

Everyone I know who goes through a clinic, complains of hunger. I wonder why that is. I'm on my 4th DIY round, and never have any problems with hunger.

You can actually skip anytime after 4 injections. It's the quickest way to get to the right dose. I never let hunger go past the 2nd day. It's crucial to get that dose right. Everything depends on it. I think we talked by email, yes?

It appears the reason that everyone complains of hunger is because they dose very high. The clinic told me I was being given "the highest dose". Felt a world better by the end of the night. Whew! Hope that's over

I was getting my injections ready to freeze them per Grammy's instructions and I looked more closely at the label. It says 250 iu! How did I miss that? LOL Glad to know we are on the right track. Thanks for all your help guys?

Yes, Kajola, I agree! I have noticed the very same thing about clinics and mail order HCG Docs!

I was hungry my entire first round, on too high a dose. This round, I am doing a "DIY round", and in addition to saving a TON of $$$, I am never hungry or irritable this time. This round is a whole different ballgame!!!

I could barely make it through that first round, but I was so sick of being overweight, I made it through on sheer determination; thank God I stabilized perfectly on P3 & P4! If this round had been as difficult as my first one, I do not think I could do it again. The right dosage makes ALL the difference! The other good news is that I plan to spend my significant savings on a new wardrobe!
