Default How to get calories up to 500 while following protocol??????
Hello, I'm on R2 VLCD1. I'm following the protocol and remembering I had this problem last time too. How do I get the calories up to 500 if I'm not eating beef? Today I had chicken and shrimp, the 2 fruits, the right veggies and I only got calories up to 415. I've seen on some people's blogs that they routinely get calorie counts in the low 400s but I thought it was important to get it close to 500. I don;t do the Melba or grissini
because of gluten. I do Mary's Gone Crackers instead but even then, the calories are lower than 500. What do you all do? Can you have any coconut oil on P2? Increase veggie servings?? Appreciate any help. Thanks!!

U don't ve to reach the 500 exactly. Something between 400 and 500 should b fine. But u can up the amount of protein a bit, if u r worried or feel hungry. Or if u just wanna skip the crackers. U can do 150 g of fish/shrimp for e.g. st one meal & 100 at the other & see. Most people lose better without crackers.

You'll be fine at 415.

Do not do coconut oil in P2. As mentioned if you'd like you can add a bit more protein or veggies, but it's not necessary.

Add a larger serving of vegetables or a larger piece of fruit to increase the calories. Do not eat coconut oil. Some people do and claim it increases their rate of loss, but it interferes with stabilization in P3 if you eat it in P2. Not worth the risk.
