My motivation is to look and feel good. This helps build my self confidence. I like the idea that I can fit to small sized clothes, wear bikinis and not embarrassed with my body

@ sasa, I think we have a similar motivation. I totally agree that when you look good, you feel good. When I look at myself in the mirror, I can see the result of my diet. Makes all the sacrifices worth it.

Default What Motivates You To Lose Weight?
I am struggling with my weight loss because I hardly see a big improvement after losing all those water weight. I exercise everyday but it seems that I am losing the motivation to continue on. Any tips or advise is highly appreciated!

Before I gained weight I used to have more energy and I can wear anything I want to until the weight gain. So I started to workout because I want to be healthier. Being fat is not good for the overall health and I don't want to acquire any medical condition because of my unhealthy lifestyle. Another thing is I want to look and feel good about myself. After the weight loss I was very happy and I am working hard to maintain it.

That's a good motivation Mikaela. I do want to stay healthier and that's the main reason why I want to stay fit. However sometimes when I get tired and bored of what I am doing, I have to push myself too much just to keep exercising. Most of the time though I want to exercise because I want to be able to have more energy.

The first thing motivates me to lose weight is the appearance when i see myself in mirror every morning i think why i am so fat, and that gives me a start or having a new weight loss plan.

I have successfully lost my weight and I advice you two things for the motivation.
Have a buddy with you for motivation.
Else join a free weight loss journal for keeping a track and having views from other.

My motivation to stay healthy actually has very little to do with whatever results I see on the scale. It's more about the feeling I get when I exercise or eat right that keeps me coming back and maintaining that kind of good lifestyle. A lot of people get stuck when they dwell on their weight, I think it's usually more motivating to focus on the energy and zest you get from doing good things for your body.

I am eating healthy to loose weight because of the following reasons:

- tired of being fat
- want my clothes to fit without my stomach hanging over my pants
- want to be Healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Heart disease runs in my family and I do not want it (my father died when he was my age - 46)
- Diabetes also runs in my family - and as you know lots of weight will also contribute to Diabetes

I agree Kathy - it is worth it to be healthy! I dont crave fast food anymore and I LOVE IT!! Mind you I live in a small town and the nearest fast food place is 1 hour of driving - that has Certainly Helped in eating healthy.
