Plain normal saline is good for only 24 hrs because it contains no preservative. Since our vials of hcg make more than one days worth of injections, you should use a mixer that is made for multi use, ie bacteriostatic normal saline or bacteriostatic water. Both contain alittle rubbing alcohol, and by hospital standards are good for 30 days if refrigerated. Hope this helps. .
